I am shamelessly going to post this, so I then shamelessly can link to it from the moderators picks.

Hoping that we get more people subbing. For the simple reason, this game exists because people subscribe.

(Disclaimer: Mods, or even anyone else...make money of this game. It is volunteer run. Subscription money is used to pay for hardware and software to run this game.)

I haven't ever written an FM, but I think the subscription time varies, depending on Ben's opinion of the mystery. Jojo?

If you send in a check or money order do u also include a slip of paper with your name on it so Ben knows who the subscription belongs to?

Yep, this thread convinced me to join for 3 months but I'll probably end up playing it for the next 20 years.

If I am honest. Considering that writing an FM is so much work. It's something you also want to do because you like to contribute to the community. Or if you absolutely can not afford it, but you do have time on your hands.

For paypal you need a credit card. Go to www.paypal.com to check out how it works.

Folks keep in mind, it is not possible to get a free subscription by writing a featured mystery (FM.) As there is a back log in approving an bringing live previously submitted ones.

"I do have three more featured mysteries that were written by Michael Bagen (John Hale) that I am in the process of coding. This is a trilogy that further delves into the intricacies of the political faction who shape the world of Sleuth. I'm hoping to have all three up sometime in January.

After that, I may start accepting new featured mystery submissions, or automate the process to some extent."

-Ben-

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the backlog will end. Sometime in January, after Mr. Bagen's FM's are released.

What obviously has changed, that now only the pages where you play the game are without banners.

Uhm I think in terms of accepting new FMs, as to when that is we should leave to Ben. After Hohn Hale's come out, Ben clearly says he "may" accept new FMs. Not that he will. We should give Ben some time, and let him make the announcement when that time comes.
