A fact is bothering me and i hope you will say me that i am wrong:

This is the third time (maybe not enough to be sure): When my hair analisys says: the hair is curly, all the persons without an alibi have curly hair, when the hair is straight, my suspects ALL have straight hair.
I hope i'm wrong, because i start to regret this skill :/ because the thread analysis is one more skill point to get it, and WAY MORE intersting.

You can believe what the skills tell you about each piece of evidence. However, in every case only 1 piece of physical evidence will match the murderer and the rest will match suspects with real alibis.

Furthermore whether or not you find the 1 piece of physical evidence which points to the killer also depends on whether or not you have the skills to find it.

If f.ex. you don't have basic thread analysis, it doesn't automatically mean that there won't be threads at the crime scenes - instead there may well be threads, but you won't be able to find them without the skill. And so it can easily happen that you only find evidence that don't turn out to match the killer.

The only way to make sure you find ALL the pieces of physical evidence at the crime scene is by having ALL the basic skills (i.e. basic ability to find notes and prints which you have from the beginning, and then acquire basic hair and thread analysis).

As for the advanced skills (i.e. those that tell you if a hair is curly or straight, a thread belongs to a male or female and so on), these are a way to make it easier to narrow down the suspects. If f.ex. you find a curly hair and you have 2 suspects with curly hair and the rest have straight, then you only need to check which of the 2 matches the hair instead of having to ask about all of them - and that can safe you a lot of questions as cases get harder and the suspects and townspeople less cooperative :)

Handwriting and foorprint are advanced skills. Hair and thread have two levels. Just because you have the advanced levels doesn't mean you'll always get all the information everytime. The more smart gear you wear the more likely you'll get the extra info.
