A strange thing occured while in London...

So here I was, once again skulking through the foggy steets of London, hot on the trail of our latest suspect. I had run out of clues, so I thought I'd pay a visit to my good friend Artemus Carr, the waiter at Chez Fromage. Now Artemus had always been good to me in the past, so I had no doubts that once again, his information would prove useful.
As I made my way towards the door of Chez Fromage, Artemus himself rushed out to greet me. "Ah, Monsieur Connor, eet is good to see you back in London, but I can not permit you to enter zee restaurant today"
I was definatly taken aback by this comment of his and asked him why not. Artemus sheepishly looked down at the ground and then up at a newly posted placard beside the entryway.
Now, I've never seem Artemus embarrased before, but I could tell by the expression on his face that he must have been at this time. But he was embarrassed for ME, not for himself.
I followed his gaze to the sign at the doorway, and understanding flashed in my eyes, as I too, glanced at the ground.
For you see, although I was dressed in my very best Sari (having just arrived from Delhi), it was painfully obvious that my feet which were peeking out from beneath the folds of silk...were BARE!
The newly posted sign read "NO SHOES, NO SHIRT, NO SERVICE". "I am sorry Monsieur Connor, but zee Department of zee Health has placed a new ordinance on London since you have been away. I can not permit you to enter in your bare feet. Zey are so dirty and it would not be good for zee food, you see. I could get in zee troubles and be closed". I could see he was quite agitated by this fact so I assured him there was no need to apologize, and I would take myself immediatly to the nearest shop to purchase some shoes.
With a look of relief, Artemus wished a pleasant day, and scooted back into Chez Fromage to see to his customers...

We've tried to get shoes before. Sadly, we got nowhere. They would take up so little space in the lockers, just throw them on the floor in a little pile, but no.

BEN! WHERE ARE MY GLASS SLIPPERS I ASKED FOR! ;)

I'm just kidding, I will still love you without my glass slippers, but I would love you even more with them.

Elsey, my feet are getting pretty dirty, sore, cracked and dried out from chasing after criminals, up and down all the streets of Sleuthsville, without shoes..hehe. Hum, I'm not sure what type of shoes would look best with my red flapper dress, but a pair of glass slippers might look pretty cool with my dress. Just in case, here's the size I need, 8 1/2 AA..hehe.

If we get the glass slippers, I want a billowing blue ball gown and a tiara to go with them! (Okay, so my favorite fairytale in all of time is Cinderella) :) OH! And long, white opera gloves too!

And I still vote for black leather strappy stilettos, and a good pair of sneakers.

What else do we need....wingtips for those snappy dressing men, and cowboy boots....

(Believe it or not, I hate shopping, especially for shoes.) :)

Man, I should open an online store in Sleuth, for all the mad shoppers we have here. :)
