Featured mysteries are not bound by the limitations of the regular cases. They do not fit nicely into a small packaged formula that you can anticipate. They are more free form and require that you actually look at the evidence and the statements, as they actually have an affect on the case.
Personally, I use my cases mostly for hunting. :) I enjoy reading through the Features, even if I've yet to solve one on the first try...or really at all. I just guess. :) But, I'm a formula gal. I like to know the rules, the guidelines...I'm trying to get better at stepping outside the box, but....
So...that is why strange evidence, questions....*considers the case with the monkey* Some very strange evidence at times. There are usually secret questions that you can't ask until you've asked the right question of someone else first. Research doesn't work the same way as it does in the regular cases.
Anyway, have fun, but I would suggest a full set of interview skills before expecting to have much sucess with any of the features, as none of them are rated below intermediate. And even then, they tend to be more difficult just by nature than the regular intermediates cases.
Hope that helps! :) Have fun!

Thank you.
For what it's worth, I use the research skill in my FMs. I'm Michael Bagen, by the way. If you want to beat mine, you need research.
