How useful are Hypnotism and Research? As in, what type of information can you discover with them? Knowing extra motives doesn't appear to be too useful to me... and I have no idea as to what you can uncover with research.

I don't know about Hypnotism but Research is the best! I love it! Research allows you to rule out one of the suspects that has fake/no alibi.

Also, if you go to City Hall,then to Sleuth Community Sites and find Delvin's website...it has alot of useful info and tells you what the different skills do. I THINK!

Research is absolutely great. You can work at least one level higher than you would be able to otherwise. Makensie gives a good summary of what it does. One of the folks without an alibi can be ruled out.

Hypnotism is good too. I think its the most useful of the faction skills - at least for charming types. When you are asking suspects who else might have a motive, if you have hypnotism, they will 'remember' more suspects, so you get your list generated with fewer questions.

Of the two, research is more useful - but both are good!

absolutely, dimitroulis2. All of them work for any agent, except safecracking (which only is useful if you are in an agency that does treasure hunts)

Thanks Miss Melville... playing Really Hard now and with the rate that pple are clamming up getting more motives is useful... I had to quit 1 case coz I had no motive for a suspect with physical evidence and 2 witnesses =/
