False witness evidence?

Do witnesses ever give false positive evidence?
I just attempted "The Excruciating Hunt for the Lost Answer" - but one of the witnesses (Adelaide) said she saw something suspicious about Prudence (whom I accused) - but the real killer was Solomon!
Is this a bug??

Witness evidence is equally important with physical.
If you have ANY evidence (physical or witness) pointing to suspect "X", AND "X" has fake alibi, then "X" IS DEFINATELY the killer.

What do you do if you have two pieces of evidence pointing to 2 different people and they both have false alibis? And all my other witnesses have stopped talking!
Scenario;
Suspect A - has been accused by Suspect B.
Suspect A - left threatening note.
Suspect B - left a "bloody footprint".
I didn't realise I needed to note how many motives were given bt each suspect, I just noted the motives. Any suggestions?

Kediri,
Are you sure they both have FAKE alibis? I've never come across this scenario before so this is pretty alien to me.
In fact, if what has been previously mentioned by kouraditsa holds true (and I second his theory), then one of the alibis for these 2 suspects should be real. No doubt about it. Please go recheck the alibis.
Incidentally (and this could be taken as a hint too), are you actually checking with the townsfolk that the alibis are Fake, or are you just deriving it from gut feeling?

Actually, Suspect A clammed up, so I thought that her alibi was fake and none of the townsfolk gave me an option to ask!
Suspect B is definetely fake and is meant to "know" who the killer is.
Don't know if it helps but the case is "Head Scratching Hunt for Secret Sin"

If they clam up, that is not a fake alibi. That is simply an unknown alibi. Just because it is unknown, does not mean that it is necessarily fake.
Make sense?

kediri- if u have 1 suspect clamming up but the rest u can check just count the numbers of fakes vs. real alibis. its always the same according to the level u do.
example: i incredibly hard case u will always have 8 suspects. 5 fakes and 3 real but 1 of the fakes will be explained by reserch. so if u count it u know what ur clammed suspect should have even if u dont know the alibi.
in the case u gave its even easier. u said u had evidence against B and also fake alibi. A had only evidence against but u dont know alibi. B must be guilty cause u cant have 2 guilty suspects.

Check out the following from a case I just did.
Physical Evidence:
Thread from male's clothes (Barron Barwarth)
Thread from male's clothes (Earle Birdsell)
Thread from male's clothes (Douglas Birdsell)
Witness Evidence:
Ingrid Wanstrath suspects Douglas Birdsell (Seen Leaving Crime Scene)
Abdulla Gravelle suspects Barron Barwarth (Stolen Watch)
This by the way is a Really Really Hard case. It turned out to be Douglas in the end.
The moral of the story?
1. one physical is not always good enough.
2. one witness is not always good enough.
3. one physical + one witness is not always good enough!
