I notice still a lot of unsubbed people go through time and effort to find an agency to join on the recruitment thread.

Perhaps maybe it is a better idea to give them read only rights, and when they try to post that they are directed to a new page with a disclaimer (or FAQ) on only being able to join agencies when they are subbed. Then a list of reasons to sub. If there are more questions to go to the newbies thread.

I'd be willing to write it, with some help of other experienced Sleuths.

The disclaimer/FAQ may become a good comprehensive guide for people who are not aware of the additional benefits subscribing would bring.

I will post in pieces. I first wanted to give a LOT more info, be very detailed and specific.....but that makes it too long and too big. I doubt that anyone will already read this overview, as it is so long already,

WHY SHOULD YOU SUBSCRIBE?

You are tired of hearing you can not join an agency, because you are not subscribed? You would like to play more games each day? Play as part of a team? Have a lot more additional skills, equipment, features? Gain experience faster? Need help from others solving your game? Would like to play different special feature games? Need more cash? Getting annoyed by the banner ads? Tired of just spending time in a single city?

Then subscribing is the thing for you to do.

This community is always happy to welcome new members. Subscribers, keep our agencies and communities alive. More importantly, subscribers are the only reason why this game can exist. No subcribers, no Sleuth!!!! Keep this game alive!!!

Though the site is run by volunteers, hardware and software licenses need to be purchased. Note: no one is making money, or running a profit off this site. This means that the Sleuth administrator, is the biggest volunteer in this community!

Many people have asked on the newbies and recruitment message boards what the benefits to subscribing are. This provided enough reason, for several members in this community to come together in order to write this. This means, this isn't a shameless plug from the Sleuth administrator. Many of us subscribed members enjoy this game and the community immensely, and hope by convincing you to subscribe, you will too.

Most important reasons to subscribe:
1. Additional features;
2. Being able to join agencies agencies, work as part of a team and play treasure hunts;
3. Additional social activity, become part of our big sleuth family.

How to subscribe will be explained as well.

Additional features overview:
1. Instead of 3 cases a day as an unsubscribed Sleuth, you will get 10. Including favours, 13 cases a day.
More experience, more money, increasing points with factions faster....more fun.

2. Play Sleuth in 4 cities, instead of just one.
Each city has a different additional features, for instance in one of the cities you can place bets on the horse track, and win money.

3. The ability to play special feature games, different ones are located in each city. The special features are different from the normal games, and are more fun to play.

4. The ability to become a member of 6 political factions, instead of just 3. Different factions are located in each city.

5. Different equipment and skills, can be obtained at each political faction that can not be purchased elsewhere.

6. The ability to get 8 contacts (2 in each city), instead of just 2 as an unsubscribed detective.

7. Earning additional money, by running special errands in the different cities.

8. Joining or starting an agency.

9. No more banners, as a subscriber there are no ads displayed.

Additional agency features overview:
1. Playing treasure hunts as part of a team.
There are hunts that take place in single cities, but also multiple cities. Hunts earn special trophies, a lot of money, and fame points for your agency. Treasure hunts, provide a big additional game element.

2. Have other people help you with their contacts, money, equipment, knowledge about the game.

3. Make use of a crime lab, and let others assist you.

4. Storing equipment and exchanging equipment with other agency members.
You can also let other agency members purchase equipment for you with factions at a cheaper price.

5. The ability to transfer or receive money from other agency members.
This could come in handy to pay off false accusations, or purchase better equipment.

6. Being able to store cases, and let an experienced detective help you out.
With this you can not only benefit from other peoples contacts, but also they can help solve your case with their additional skills and equipment. This means you can play cases at a higher level (more experience, more money), without quitting or getting too many false accusations. Also, you can save cases for the next day.

7. Climb the agency corporate ladder from rookie, to agent, to officer, to director. Each level will give you special priviliges and features.

8. Each agency has a private message board, that can only be viewed by agency members.

Additional fun by being social

1. Share a home with others in one of the cities

2. Make friends, become part of a small family

3. Each agency has a message board, that can only be viewed by other agency members

4. Playing with others is more fun then to play alone.

How to subscribe?

1. Click the subscribe button, look for it on the right hand side on top of your screen. Follow directions there.
A) Using Paypal
B) For those that can not use pay pal, cash or cheques are allowed as well (provided they are US currency or cheques from a US bank.) Where to send your cash is also described on the subscription page.

2. There are several subscription offers:
1 month = $5,50
2 months = $8,00
3 months = $10,00
6 months = $19,00
1 year = $36,00
You can tell compared to other game sites, this is an absolute steal!

3. You can not pay at all? The only solution is by writing a featured mystery. However, keep in mind it may take you several days to write, several dates to edit and change after review. It will take some time before a featured mystery is approved, and it will only get approved if it has a good quality. Please contact the sleuth admin, visit city hall under game info.

If you have additional questions please visit: city hall, newbie message board and pose your question there.

Looks good overall, but in the first paragraph under "WHY SHOULD YOU SUBSCRIBE?", I would add "Are you trying to reach the top of a faction but someone else always has a higher rating?"

The reason is that in an agency faction cases can be given to whoever needs them. I know that it's possible for the unsubbed detective to get to the top of a faction, but I also know it's easier (and more common) for those in an agency to do the same.

My only other comment is that, as you stated the overview may be too long for some. So I'd put the link at the top instead of the bottom, since if someone doesn't read the whole thing, and they don't scroll through, they won't see the link if it's at the bottom.
