Some of us have interesting reasons to pick a detective name. What is yours?

jstkdn which some people don't realize right away stands for JuST KiDding! It is something I tend to say a lot in real life after a lot of sentences. A good friend of mine in the US had jstkdn as a license plate of her car, so I wasn't that inventive myself.

My previous other agent was PM, which stands for Project/Program Manager, my profession in real life.

My only detective that I currently play with is freelancermountaineer. Only because Freelancer was taken. Sidney Bristow in the Alias series uses two call signs freelancer and mountaineer.

P. Rockwell-the bio is actually taken from US history. He's just been interesting for me to study over the years.

Reverend-Actually my real nickname. I guess my friend find me preaching sometimes. And with a little energy, Reverend Raymond Brown (RL name) sounds pretty cool.

I am very short, and most of my friends call me Lil' because of it. Therefore, I combined Lil and my first name, Rachel, to come up with my name, LilRach.

My fiance calls me sweets. Sweets was taken, so I used part of my real name, R to invent R Sweets, private detective.

As a teen, I was a camp counselor at a camp where the counselors used "camp names" rather than their real ones. My camp name was "Orbit," but some of my friends started calling me "Orbitrux Maximus" as a joke.

I chose the picture I wanted first, then thought about who this chap might be - and then chose a name I thought suited the character!

Apart from being British, he has no similarities to me in RL whatever - as my agency colleagues will no doubt tell you with some amusement :-)

Ruth Callderford is kind of odd, I know. I like the name 'Ruth' and I just blended the words 'call' 'DERmont' and 'Ford.' I like to CALL my friends, my friends' last name is DERmont, and my favorite car name is 'FORD.' There. Ruth Callderford. Pretty strange, isn't it? LOL :)

Not as weird as me. I named myself after my favourite blend of tea.

I am a writer by profession and John Hale is the name of my detective character. My real name's Michael Bagen (I know this isn't news to most of you). Btw, my ugly mug is up at www.geocities.com/m_bagen. You can also download a story with the real John Hale from there.

I may be saying something completely strange here. But when I first visited your website a few weeks ago, and saw your pic....the firsth thing I thought was "He looks like Franz Kafka."

I had to read his books for German class, and the picture on the back of the covers, looks like you.
