Some of us have interesting reasons to pick a detective name. What is yours?

jstkdn which some people don't realize right away stands for JuST KiDding! It is something I tend to say a lot in real life after a lot of sentences. A good friend of mine in the US had jstkdn as a license plate of her car, so I wasn't that inventive myself.

My previous other agent was PM, which stands for Project/Program Manager, my profession in real life.

My only detective that I currently play with is freelancermountaineer. Only because Freelancer was taken. Sidney Bristow in the Alias series uses two call signs freelancer and mountaineer.

Roxette was the name of the group (Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle). Joyride was one of their hits. They're from Sweden. *waves a flag* ;)

Earl Stuart, nicknamed "Smokey" by railroad coworkers, moved to Valdez Alaska in the 1950's. In 1964 a massive earthquake hit Anchorage Alaska. The Tsunamis that it caused rocked the coast line with waves that were recorded as high as 280 feet, no chance of survival. Him, his wife and 3 kids all died in the Tsunami.

Earl Stuart saved my grandpas life when a railroad spike flew out of the tracks and impaled his chest. My grandpa would have died if he hadn't known what to do, and thanks to him, my grandpa lived to be 79 years old.

It's sad to think you do such a great deed in life and then die such a tragic death. He may have been killed in the Tsunami but until the day I die I won't forget the story my grandpa told me about him and the big scar near his heart.

Another game I used to play, I wont mention out of respect for this game, had a sign up like --> (username) of (crib) which i used Smokey of Valdez in memory of.

Since I've used the name Smokey Valdez for most games I play.

Know it was kind of a long post so I apologize but I figured the information was needed. Just saying I used it on another game before wouldn't have told the reason why I chose it =D

I'm not super creative ...so since I'm a female I choose "Lady" and then just rearrange the letters in my real last name to have "Zeugirdor".

I got Rocky from the name of my favorite character in the online comic Lackadaisy (Pretty awesome, you should check it out. The main characters are, um, cats, though.)

Then I just sat for like 15 minutes trying to think of a last name... Polinski just... happened.

I have a thing for girls names beginning with "E" that sound kinda traditional... I'm sorted for if ever i have a baby girl.

Edith, Eve, Elsie, Elanor, Eva...

I like surnames that could be first names, i have one irl, like Rose can be and it sounded pretty, Eva Rose.

My favorite character to be when I play clue is Miss Scarlet, so I wanted Scarlet to be a part of my name. When I was little, there was this mystery series called "Jigsaw Jones." He was the one who got me into sleuthing and detective work, so I chose Jones as my last name. I wanted to feminize the first name a bit and came up with Scarletta Jones.

Angus Drako is a form of the name I used to use when I did some reenactment stuff years ago. It just hung on from friends and family. Guess they liked it and I got used to it.
Thus far I will stay with it. Sort of has a nice ring.

Darken Mist was just created out of my odd habit of putting odd words together. I first used it on another website and it seemed to stick in my head. When I joined Sleuth, I thought it be a perfect name for a darker type of a detective. I used that mind frame in doing her history. No much more to tell.
