Just wanted to ask what people thought were the easiest skills to start with and the hardest?

Don't forget the smart skills. They may cost more points but you will pick up more evidence at the crime scene, hair thread ect. I would then choose either tough or charm skills not both. This way you will have extra skill points for smarts.

also, get the larger point items first, because points get fewer and farther between as you get better, and saving up 12 points becomes a real chore

I second what Bella Luna says. Smart skills make things easier from the beginning because you get better evidence.

Pick tough OR charming and build to that skill set. Trying to do both at the same time just waters down your effectiveness. I think charming has a slight edge because of flirting. I don't think there's any analogous 'cheap little booster' skill for tough.
