Will there be any new items added in the future? The points are pretty low on them. What happen to the shoe suggestion, does anyone know?

For a long time items have not been added to the detective store. I suppose this is because it should cost some effort to purchase equipment either by winning it on a favour, or by increasing your political standing. Personally I prefer for it to stay that way, in order to not make the game too easy.

Shoes suggestion have come in several times. But I guess most likely why this never was implemented for similar reasons. It would make the game too easy.

I agree. The detective store is meant to be a shop for new detectives. The items are not good, but the prices are low - good for newbies to spend a few dollars there until they can successfully do favour and gain faction standings.

I once bought a Magnifying Glass, and had to sell it later to pay for the shady guy. After I had gotten the Chemist Kit from my second favour, I stopped buying anything from the shop since - except my coat and my hat, which will be replaced later in higher level favours.

As for shoes, it would be a nice item to have. However, I don't know if any shoe could give any smart bonus. Highly doubt that.

If you want shoes with a smart bonus, you'll need the Gumshoe Phone/Shoe. :)

TY for the feedback. But, we're supposed to put on walking shoes when a suspect goes into hiding. Right, Ben? :p
