You can't live without research! Okay, you can, but it sooo much more work! :)

As Blaise said it eliminates one suspect per case, giving you a real alibi for one that was false, and you don't even have to know it was false to start with. SO...it saves you from asking that question, then it saves you from asking about evidence linked to that suspect as well.

Though many people will argue with me, I suggest getting it early. I have played the game both ways. Cfmdec didn't get it until REALLY late. Once I had it, I kicked myself for not getting it sooner. Cfm, first skill....And I haven't regretted it. :)

Yes, research is *essential*--especially when working the hardes levels of cases. It is pricey, but so worth it.

So, cfm, your first detective - cfmdec - retired because you didn't have the research skill? Wow. There's no way to stress its importance more than that.

Research is my first skill I chose also. So, potatodude, since you're a smart and charming detective, get the skill as soon as possible. You won't regret it.

i have to agree! research is an incredibly useful skill, both when you've just started and when you're a veteran detective. Anything that reduces the number of possible suspects has got to be good! I've never been without it! For some reason, I chose it while I was setting up my detective and I'm really glad I did! :D
