I can't remember the woman's name but yes she tried to incorporate Mother's day around the civil war (1860's) and certain areas tried to kept it going via town celebrations.The official u.s. government incorporated Mother's day was first celebrated on the first Sunday of May 1914 and Thank Goodness it is still going strong. It's nice to be appreciated for a sacrificing woman that sometimes gets taken for granted. Mother's day should be celebrated everywhere.
