I've been around for a little while and I finally left New York. Don't know why it took so long, but it did. Anyways, I moved to Shanghai, did some cases and got a favor. My favors are incredibly hard. So my question is...HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET A CONTACT IF I CAN'T SOLVE A FAVOR? It's really difficult to solve a favor of that level with no contacts. Anyone had the same experience...or know any ideas?

I have advanced hair, thread, footprint, and handwriting. but it's still not working. this is a pain in my butt. I have already had to quit a couple favors because I could not solve them. I asked about the evidence to the point where i had no options (bribing included) and then asked all the suspects for witness evidence. I am seriously agreeing with whoever said you should be able to pick the level of your favors.

I have to agree with TalenaN... I think being able to choose the level of favors you do is a good idea. 1 vote here.

It is difficult sometimes, unless u have a contact for that particular evidence,but I like how it is now...it is challenging, to be able to choose your own level of favor, would be too easy. I've had to quit a few favors myself but lucky for me, I've solved more than I quit. It especially is stressful when you are in a hunt and doing a favor. lol :) Again tho, I love the challenge of it.

What I do, is write down all the suspects that are fake alibi or none, and just ask specifically about the fake and none alibis,not the whole list. (not saying that you ask about the whole list, im just talking about what I do) :) If you have the Research skill, its even better because it takes a suspect who is fake off the list and you dont have to worry about asking about him.

Let me put it this way- it's supposed to be hard. You shouldn't be able to get a contact that easily. It took me a while to get my first, and I still haven't come close to getting a second.

I agree. Something like that, people need to work a little for, and not just get it easily. All it takes is patience, it will come :)

Try to dress more to max your interview skills when you travel - but don't go negative on smarts. I try for about 14 charm and 7 smarts when I travel. Research is essential - if you haven't got that yet, go home and get the skill points there.

And, yes, you will have to quit a few more on the road - even after you get your PE contact - because you are just never going to be as well equipped on the road. But if you think of it as a challenge, it can be fun as well as frustrating.

If you're in an agency it helps to have your agency move there to let all their agents get their contacts. Then you can use the equpiment locker to switch out your gear.

Alright, thanks for the suggestions guys. Just so you know, I had already moved hq to Shanghai, i had been changing out my gear so that i checked the crime scene with max smarts and talked to people with max charm, i do keep notes on my cases, i have gotten it down to a fine art since starting, and i have advanced hair thread footprint and handwriting. I guess I will keep trying for the contacts.
