*a little annoyed that gumshoe is being over run she decides to post answers in places she'd normally steer clear of.....*
Okay. It's supposed to be "pop" around here, but ever since people found us and have started invading our quiet little city, trying to turn it into a large city and keep the small town feel, it has turned into "soda". My mom owns a small store and you used to be able to tell who was born and raised here and who is a trasplant by which term they chose to use, now the "soda" term is being picked up by the locals as well. So... *sigh* just another price of progress....

In Wisconsin, it can go either way. I am squarely a SODA person myself. Another one that gets me going is drinking fountain, water fountain or bubbler!

Hey cfm! Doesn't the term "fountain drink" work here?
Does that term makes sence elsewhere?
