I've had a thought concerning the field offices for agents in other cities. Would it be possible to upgrade the office so that it also contains an equipment locker, crime lab etc. This would allow agents to move about to other cities in pursuit of treasures. Obviously this would entail some cost of hiring out a second agency HQ, but it may also make the game nmore flexible. Any ideas?

So, this would cost money to do?

I think it's good, but it has to cost a good amount of cash.

yeah i agree, but i'd be willing to pay if it meant opening up other cities. It'd also make it easier to learn the faction skills as you wouldnt have to be away from the luxuries of HQ for extended periods of time

I was originally planning on allowing agencies to upgrade field offices (say with a small equipment locker and maybe a small cabinet for case files), but now I'm not so sure.

For one thing, the current setup makes a wider variety of equipment useful.

When you're in your home city, you usually switch between either a very tough outfit or a very charming outfit and a smart outfit for crime scenes / surveillance. A maxxed out detective would probably switch between a tough/charming outfit and a very smart outfit.

When you are traveling away from your agency's home city, you usually pack a more balanced outfit, since you're stuck with it for the duration.

I'm a little worried that allowing for small lockers at field offices will lessen the usefulness of the tough/smart and charming/smart gear (or tough/charming/smart for that matter), since it's always possible to switch for smarts tests.

Maybe the locker at the field office could only contain 5 or 6 things?

Ohhh yesssss an optional SMALL equipment locker in each field office would be helpful. Of course we would still want to generally be well balanced but it would be great if we could keep a few extra things here and there at various offices to help with multi-city treasure hunts. It has been difficult to do those since you don't always have helpful contacts in that city.

Even a locker that held two pieces of gear, and each agent could store one file, would give us a ot more flex. I think 5 or 6 pieces would be too much. four would allow you to keep one totally smart gear in your field office, and travel in your high test interview gear. So two pieces would still force us to balance our travel gear, but give us enough of a boost esp. til we get our contacts. And one file would be great if you get stuck or if you want to switch factions.

I got to say I don't have any problems solving the cases with the clothes i'm wearing right now. weather I'm home or away I don't have trouble solving the cases. Heck I don't even have to pay bribes anymore very very very rare that i have to bribe.

My point on the last post was just trying to say i don't think we really need a equipment locker on the road.

Wow Skyler, congratulations, you've arrived. :-) I would imagine with 6,866,830 experience points you wouldn't need an equipment locker. However I have only just over 100,000 experience points and I do. I dare say at LEAST 50% of the people who play Sleuth have not reached 1,000,000 experience points and are also still in the stage I am in which having even just a tiny locker holding two items would tremendously help. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!
