Does experience and skill points that we get from capturing the suspects affected by how long we solve the case and/or what evidence/proof we have?

The experience is set by the level of the case. It doubles with each increase in difficulty. Easy are worth 20, intermed. are worth 40, hard are worth 80 etc...

The skill points are on a sliding scale based on the amount of experience you have and will become harder to find the more experience you have. Right now you may be getting 1 skill point for each easy case you solve, but soon you will find that you need to do more than one to get a skill point. Sorry, but I have never bothered to keep track of the steps on that one.

I hope that helps a bit.
