Agency Recruitment Policies

I am currently unsubscribed and have come to realise that the only difference between subscription statuses (other than number of daily games playable) is thaat only subscribers are allowed to join agencies.

My question is this: When is a detective deemed to be fit for agency recruitment? I understand that entry requirements are arbitrary, but I believe each agency will want someone of a certain calibre, right? So what is the mimimum criteria for getting selected by an agency?

You may wish to use the following format to respond, if applicable.

Gender:
ArchType:
Experience:
Total Skill Points:
Unspent Skill Points:

I can tell you, as director of an agency looking for a new member, that each agency has its own needs. Most agencies are looking for someone who has a contact that can help with analyzing evidence that another member of the agency does not have. For example, the only requirement my agency has for a new member is a barber contact. Also, some agencies seem to be looking for new people who can do all of their cases every day and all of their favours so the agency can complete more treasure hunts and move up the rankings and help out their fellow agency mates if they get stuck on a case. Yet another important determining factor for agency criteria is which political faction you are associated with. An agency who does not have someone affiliated with one of the factions may want someone who can get them started on treasure hunts. Finally, some agencies that are starting out may need someone who can help fund initial costs and rent fees. After an agency has been around they end up accumulating more money than they know what to do with.

An agency can not see total skill points, unspent skill points, money, cases solved or quit, false accusations or any of the adjustments when they look at a potential agent.

I can tell you that the single most important thing that an agency will look for is someone who fits in with the overall vibe of the group. For example, here at Dead Guys 'R' Us we're all completely looney and look for the same. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can answer anything else. If nothing else, subscribe, start or join an agency and become completely hooked like the rest of us.

Thanks for the informative response, Jason. Believe me when I say, I AM already hooked on this and it't only been the 2nd or 3rd day I'm playing, (we all lose count after awhile eh..). Think I played 84 games yesterday. I know this 'cos I have 10 personas, and each plays 3 games. Sometimes, I forget which character I am. I have even some profiles as guys, just to add more spice to my characters' list!

Off we go!

Wow, you ARE addicted if you have that many personas! I have just the one subscribed account, but it already takes up a lot of my time. (Once I account for messaging, posting on the boards, helping others in the agency, doing facors, and such.) I'm thinking you never leave your computer? :) Though, I do have another (unsubscribed) name I can use if I get bored and have no more games to play.

*laughs* Elsey, your detective skills are realy growing on you. You're right. I only take time out to sleep, and mop the house three times over, before bathing my kitties and buying myself one meal a day (which, by the way, I bring home to eat WHILE playing)

Let's see now.. There's is a little element called Exams for me though. I'm majoring in Psychology and I'm actually on pre-exam holidays (which exists to provide students with time to prepare, but which I'm throwing away to this wonderful world of Sleuth, so help me God..) *smiles*

Ben really did good on this server.

Ben 'forced' me to not do anything I was supposed to do. I just sat in front of my computer instead.

Thanks Ben! :)

I'll fully admit to becoming hooked during finals week this past semester. Who needs to study for those little exams? They generally only determine your entire grade, right? That's nothing to worry about! :D

And can you believe that some people actually want MORE daily cases per day? I'm doing you all a favor by limiting it, really.

Some of us have understanding bosses; or closed offices ;-)
I support the "more cases" club :-)

Heh.. I don't think I'd manage to play all my cases if I had more of them! :)

MAybe we should be allowed to change the subject matter of posted messages. Our discussion has digressed to Sleuthsomia. NOt that I'm complaining. It's always interesting to see what course the message takes, but it gets misleading after awhile..

I must be real bored.. why am I doing this?!? *rambling rambling* I hope I get promoted to 8 cases soon or my mind will be this idle and everyone here will suffer. My other associates are contending for this one spot. Those who don't get promoted will have to live with managing 3 cases a day. Wish me luck!
