I was reading a couple of messages and was intrigued when I stumbled upon Fat Chuck's explanation about making sure one knows the number of suspects to tease out, so as not to waste the number of questions ask.

My question is, how do we determine the number of suspects? Are we told of this figure in the case file (if we are, I'm blind, please forgive me) or is there something I'm missing?

The number doesn't go above 8 unless you're in the top two difficulty levels. Then it goes up to 10 or 12.

I'm pretty sure that every level from intermediate to incredibly hard has 8 suspects. It's been awhile since I did any cases at the lower levels though, so I'm not totally sure of the breakdown on the first few levels.

check a very old thread here called "levels difficulty" or something like that. if i still remember right it was started by sigarr and it also tels u how many fake/real alibis u can expect in each level.
