I agree MadamTBird, they are not only ignorant, but busy bodies, that has nothing better to do but gossip and spread rumors. It's hard for me to stomach people, or neighbors who want mind their own buisness. Jstkdn, whatsoever they sow, they will reap. Some people thinks they do no wrong, and as the saying goes, "their poop doesn't stink"..hehe. Well, IT DOES!! You mentioned going outside in your shirt and boots, well, one night I took my boys outside at 2am to use the bathroom & was wearing my shortie snoopy dog pj set, thinking nobody would be out, but instead there was a street full of guys. Wouldn't you know it, my dogs took off running after them, and me right behind them screaming and yelling stop and come back. It dawned on me finally so I grabbed them up, one in each arm, and sprinted back to the house. Thank goodness it was dark and since I didn't linger long they didn't see much...lol. Anyway, I think people should tend to their own nittin. Anyway, people can be so cruel, and just might get what they dish out.

Ah about the gossip that goes around in my street, it seriously makes me laugh. Some neighbours don't realize I know they are talking, and try to get info out of me or hint they want to see the inside of my house. All I do is say nothing, and don't give them an invite. Their lack of knowlege about me, makes them talk even more. And I find this hysterically funny. "So is that guy your boyfriend?" My answer "Hmmmm, I guess it depends what you mean with boyfriend." Or change the topic. hahahahah.

When my dad just came out as a gay man. The gossip around that was painful. But, now, I don't give a hoot anymore.

I would have a frined stay the night. Sure enough my phone would the next day. My mom accusing me of shacking up with a man. My cousin that I was real close spilled the beans that my aunt was riding by my house 2-3 times a day just to see who was there.
So, I just started doing stuff to make my family wonder what I was up to after that. They were spreading untrue gossip. So, I sorta added fuel to the fire. Like I've said when they were gossiping about me that means they were letting up on somebody else.
We had a neighbor who would actually really peep into windows. She just wanted to see how clean her next door neighbor's house was. My daughter was swimming in the lake with her best friend. A good neighbor of mine calls me up to tell me they were out there cussing. When i got to the bottom of it was another girl that was out in the lake talking filthy. It was her brother's girlfriend. My child & her friend swam away from her & ignored her. First of I know they can't stand being around her friends brothers or any of thier friends. Second I guess you could say they are goody two shoes. Which is a good thing. Plus, they are tattle tales. So, i knew it wasn't true. I was so mad. How did it all come about thier next door neighbor lady was spying on them w/binoculars!
Now that is so direspectful of folks to treat you that way. You should tell them to get a life & stay out of yours. or say well at least I have real friends. To talk about your dad that is sad. i have a friend that when thru the same thingw/her dad. Her mom was hurt enough about him leaving her for a man. All the gossip crushed her so bad she moved pretty far away.

That lake thing, man...don't people have anything better to do?

There was never even near a need for me to move. The gossip died down pretty quick, they were on to the next topic of interest. Holland is a really tollerant society, gay marriage is legal.

Your friend may want to visit:

There is a book listed on the website, that I suggest she reads. This book, will give her valuable insights. It is one of the leading authorities on the subject. It just came out on paper back. If she sees the name "Nikkie" mentioned with a quote, that's me. I was one of the interviewees for the book.

jstkdn if you were asking if I was talking about a boyfriend, it's a BIG no. My spouse is all I can handle..hehe. But, as for the neighbors, they just looked on with this silly look. Well, I'm right proud of myself today. I mowed our lawn, and because my neighbor on the right is sick, I mowed hers, then I decided what the hay, I might as well mow my neighbors yard on the left of me, at which time a neighbor opened all her windows and doors so she could watch everything I was doing. I started laughing as I mowed. But, by the time I finished I could hardly walk up the stairs of our front porch. My knees were like rubber and I jumped in and took a cold shower, trying to cool down, cause my face was so badly sunburned. Well, I've not heard any complaints from either neighbor, and hopefully they'll appreicate it. My spouse came running out of our house demanding I stop mowing their yards that they might not like it....well, it was a little too late...hehe. I do love trying to be helpful and help people out. That's what neighbors should do. What has happened to the good ole days when neighbors lent a helping hand to each other.. Of course, when there's a real crisis, American's comes together. By the way, I love your attitude jstkdn. This will keep your hair from turning grey and falling out prematurely..lol. It's best to laugh about things than to get all out of sorts.

Wow, I'd hate to think I had a neighhbor who window peeped....ulk. I'm a clean house keeper but not sometimes. I freak out if someone drops by to visit and my house isn't clean..lol. My spouse loves to strow stuff, and keeps me busy picking up after him. He worse than our children., but I love the big brat. He's a Mamma's boy, that's for sure, hehe. He's even got Mom tattoed on his arm... but says he'd put my name on too, but won't agree, cause something could happen to me, and what women would marry him with my name plastered on his arm...hehe.

I wouldn't let him tattoo my name on his arm, because, I might die. Once he insisted on drawing one on me, so he put a heart with our initials in it. Then later that night I got a miagrain and went to the ER. The doctor on call thought I was a former inmate because he thought the tattoo was real and looked like many he'd seen on women released. I was afraid he wouldn't want to treat my headache, so I started trying to prove it wasn't real by licking my fingers and rubbing it off. The nurse grabbed a wet cloth and washed it off for me, because she could see the terror on my face. Needless to say, I was very upset with Texan...hehe, and didn't let him live it down for a long long time after that. I'm not against tattoo's.
