It seems when I try to type short messages, then I remember something I meant to add..lol. I think it's a sign of old age .lol. I'll try to work on making my messages shorter, and just one. By the way, I found your web site and was impressed. I wish I were half as talented. Way to go jojo227.

Yes, jojo I have seven grandchildren. Six steps, and one grandson that belongs to my son. I had my son while in my early teens, so actually I'm a young grandmother, though at times I feel much older than I look, or want to feel, but thanks my Sleuth family, makes my day.

Fire Ants are the least of our gardening worries these days. We're trying to figure out how to get rid of freak April blizzards around here.

Sunday morning found me and Sunny running around outside in our robes and boots, hauling in all the unfortunate flower pots.

One time, it was 3 am in the morning when we got a summer storm. So I went out in a skimpy T-shirt and underwear, in my wooden shoes with cow spots to secure my garden chairs.

My neighbour whom was doing the same, was pretending VERY hard he did not see me.

These neighbours are actually the ONLY ones that weren't gossiping about me. For some reason the proper little families, have nothing to talk other then that single girl on the corner. I had several guys with live me, NONE of which I was actually romantically involved with. One summer, my neighbourhood was on a daily basis chatting about me (I could hear them talk about me in the parking lot.) I had this guy moving in with me, that's how gossip round started. Then a second guy moved in....shock...EVERYBODY was talking.
I guess it occured to NO ONE, that the two guys were a couple.

OH my WORD! That is funny & sad. People are so ignorant. I say if they're talking about me somebody else is getting a break. When I was single my om who lived out of state called me up. She goes what's this I hear about you seeing Squirrel? I was like who in the is Squirrel? She goes don't play dumb with me & preceeded to chew me out. Finally when she got to the part somebody saw you on his motorcycle. I busted out laughing. I had been seeing a very nice guy. He was K9 Deputy for our Sherriff's Dept plus he came from a very wealthy family. His bike by the way was the a brand new Harley with the saddlebags & all that was special ordered & cost over $30,000. Somebody had seen me on the back of his hog. Rumors got fired up. Some busybody calees my mom up & tells her I was seeing that Squirrel fella. Who it turns out was long-haired greasy old dopehead hippie. I was mad at first then I thought it was just to hilarious.
Funnier than that? My mom is single now & she is dating a guy with a long ponytail. She doesn't know I know it. I am calling her tonight to tell her I heard she WAS seeing Squirrel.

Ben, I couldn't help but laugh aloud, as I could visualize you and Sunny running around out in the yard in your robes and rubber boots, as you shoveled snow and tried to save your plants..lol. Hey, you do what you have to do regardless. I lived in Iowa once and when they plowed the streets, it'd leave 8ft. banks of snow on each side, plus the icy wind would blow right through you. Likewise it's about that cold where you live, right? It gets pretty cold there too. I bet you were frozen by the time you were done..lol. I don't blame you for saving your plants. I noticed my green oriental plant is dying. The soil has been taken over by those stupid ants. I've got to change the soil quick, or I'll lose it to those little pests. Speaking of ants, my two year old grandson was bitten by one, which got infected and turned into staff infection. He was hospitalized and had surgery on his right hip today, to lance and remove the pressure. The surgeon told us the core was the size of a golf ball. He was a trooper though and is doing well tonight. Wow, these Texas fire ants are horrible, and I HATE EM with a purple passion...lol
