I've been watching and following "American Idol" on Fox network and it's down to nine contestants, one of which is "Carrie Underwood", who has perfect pitch, a crystal clear voice, & by far is the best singer of all. However, the following three contestants are great too, Bo Bice and Anware, and Constatine. By the way Carrie Underwood is from Oklahoma, which is where I was born and raised, so it would be special if she won. I hope it's OK to post this thread and have a discussion as to whom we all like. On by the way, it airs again, next Tuesday night at 7pm. Go Carrie Underwood.

I liked Constantine. He had alot of personality and charimsa. However, my favorite is Bo Bice, as I've said many times here, so I think (HOPE) he is the last one standing! I do think the final two will be Bo and Carrie. My opinion. I'm hoping between Anthony and Vonzelle, that Anthony goes home tonight. I like him BUT I like Vonzelle more. Im just saying them two because I dont think Carrie and Bo has to worry about leaving tonight. I could be in for a real shock tho...it has happened *grin*

I liked Constatine & thought he's charming. I didn't like either song selections by Carrie. The second song was a disaster. Her vibrato on sounded like bugs bunny..lol. She should stick with slow country tunes to feature her flawless, crystal clear voice. What concerns me about Carrie is she doesn't sing fast songs well. I mean the first one was OK. However, the second song was slow, but since it wasn't country, she butchered it. A true star should be able to sing anytype of song, blues, country, jazz or whatever. I don't know what her problem is really.Bo always sings and performs like a professional and in my books is the best of all at this point in the contest. He never looks nerveous, or struggles with anything. This is truly in favor of him winning. Even when he sings a boring song, you can't help but love him. I felt sorry for Vonzella last night, and loved her last song. Anthony hung in there and done good. At first he was weak but I liked him. I'm afraid Carrie might be voted off soon if she doesn't change things. OK, DaRu, aka Ann Landers...has no further comments. Ladies and Gents, ELVIS has left the building....hehe.

I agree Daru...No Matter what Bo sings, he does it with confidence and already looks like a star on stage. I believe he is ahead of the group by far. Carrie has her moments and as u said, she needs to sing slower country ballads to bring out her nice voice but in my opinion, if a person can only sing certain types of music, they aren't a true good singer. A good singer can sing ANY song....and that's what Bo can do. Gooooo Bo!!

I felt sorry for Vonzelle too..I got teary eyed when she started crying....but then I always do when I see someone cry *sigh*

But you do have to admit, that Carrie does generally bring the goods, and that Bo does sometimes not do as good a job as she does.. I really do not have an opinion on which one will win, but I did have to console my friend about the person who got kicked off tonight.. I told her that they made it to the top four, and was thus pretty much ensured a future career in the music industry, no matter how long or short it might be..

So true. In fact, it seems when it gets down to twelve contestants, they are all assured a singing career in the music industry. Each one voted off gets to make guest appearances on different television networks. The twleve contestants makes an album together as they tour and promote their recording. Then each of them signs with a major music company and continues promoting their solo albums. None of them should feel sad, because they've got it made at this point. I mean how many contestants did they beat out initially? Does anyone know the approximate amount that tried out? I'm not sure, but isn't it in the thousands?

I have no idea, to be quite honest.. but I can say that it has to be torture to have to sit in that room and listen to people for hours upon hours. I actually sort of pity the judges.

I used to follow American Idol, but I've only seen one episode of the current series. Everyone was singing RnB and it's one of my least favourite song styles: I find it impossible to tell if people are off-key, or if they mean to sing that way.

Of course, it's the border-line and early singers that give me that problem.
