I've been watching and following "American Idol" on Fox network and it's down to nine contestants, one of which is "Carrie Underwood", who has perfect pitch, a crystal clear voice, & by far is the best singer of all. However, the following three contestants are great too, Bo Bice and Anware, and Constatine. By the way Carrie Underwood is from Oklahoma, which is where I was born and raised, so it would be special if she won. I hope it's OK to post this thread and have a discussion as to whom we all like. On by the way, it airs again, next Tuesday night at 7pm. Go Carrie Underwood.

This is the first season I've watched Idol, and I've only been watching since the final 12, but I've been having fun with it. I was thrilled when Mikalah was sent home; it didn't happen soon enough for me. I won't ruin tonight's show for anyone - I know it'll be two days until Stanz sees it BUT can I just say that I was shocked at the bottom three tonight? It was not what I would have predicted...nor was the person who was sent home...

I was shocked at the final 3 as well....but, of the three, I was happy about the two who were safe. I'd like to see Bo go all the way and I hope Constatine or whatever his name is, goes next.

Moonshh, I was pleased to see Mikalah go too! I wasn't really all that impressed with her voice and she got on my nerves lol Anyone hear of Fran Drescher? (probably spelled wrong) She reminded me sooo much of her when she talked!! Whatta hoot!

Mikalah could be Fran's daughter...lol. She didn't get voted off soon enough. Talk about getting on nerves, she put mine on the edge...lol. Though I didn't like her voice, I really didn't like her attitude. I think that's why I feel as I do. I don't like putting anyone down, and sorry if I offended any of her followers. I'm sure she'll find stardom in acting.

I noticed from the start that she seemed to copy "Barbra Stresand's" style of singing, and then at other times "Bette Midler". I even think I recall one of the judges telling her after she sung a Barbra Streisand song, to be original and not copy after Barbra, or something like that. Anyway, I love and admire Barbra and Bette, and and nobody comes close.

A couple of weeks ago I saw Constantine preform and really liked him, (I hadn't before.) I admit part of my change of opinion was because he is really cute :) I also like Nadia Turner and Scott Saval

Yes, I agree he's really a handsome young man, as well as Anware and Bo. I think alot of people are voting on looks rather than talent. If judged on looks, Carrie would win hands down. Take Scott, he's not handsome, or ladies man, but he has a great voice. Thankfully, people overlooked Rueben Studder's appearance and regardnized he's got talent. Simon, Randy and Paula have stressed to everyone to vote according to talent and not popularity.

True, although popularity may be a better measure of what will make them a star than actual talent.

It helps to be popular. For instance, Johnny Cash, who couldn't sing so well, was loved by millions of fans. His wife, June Carter is another example. She was popular because of who her family was. To me talent brings about popularity in general.

I don't know if my last statement makes sense. I meant Johnny Cash was popular for making something out of his life, after being released from prison, and when he married June Carter that even made him more popular. So regardless whether he could sing good or not, it didn't matter. So yes, popularity counts, but talent is the usual method in bringing about super stardom. Oh well, just my thoughts...lol. Can we say who got kicked off now, pretty please???

I vote it's been long enough now. So, let me just say that I was shocked Anthony wasn't in the bottom three, and I was even more shocked that out of the bottom three, Scott was not booted. I think he needs to be GONE! But Nikko wasn't my favorite either, so I am not too traumatized about his exit, just didn't think it was fair that those other two got to stay on. Any bets on who will be next to go?
