He is having to pick up & move. It will be a very long time if ever that he will be back. Where is going Does not have modern technologies. So, he won't be able to be online. You will really be missed JoJo & best of luck. I hope everything works out.

Thank you girls...I feel much better. I agree I could use protective gear, and for sure in real life..lol. My daughter tells me I have the gift of gab, and I guess I do. My Dad was a school teacher and loved telling about his navy adventures.Anyway, there's one more story I'll share. Our yard is always full of fire ants, to which I'm very allergic to. I was mowing the yard and saw a huge ant hill, so I decided to knock it down. When I did, ants came charging at me from everywhere. They ran up my pant legs and started biting me. I done a jig as I streaked to the house and jumped beneath the shower, jerking off my attire. I was bitten all over and was on fire and itching like crazy. For days I tried everything to ease my suffering, but nothing helped. Finally I looked up a remedy on the internet about applying a thick soda paste. I had white patches everywhere, and soda was all over the house. I even wrapped up in a white sheet. Wow, what a mess. I can't imagen what my husband thinks at times. Anyway, I'm very careful when outside. Yelp, I do need protective gear...lol. By the way, does anyone recomment a safe remedy to kill fire ants but not harm my yorkies?

My husband gets this stuff that the ants thinks is food. Will ask him the name & let you know what it is. Anyway, it looks like tiny little crumbs. The ants scram for it & bring it home for ffod. It kills the queen & all the ants within a day or two. The best stuff we have ever found for fire ants.

Thanks MTBird. I'm sure my boys would be thrilled to go outside without being attacked. They try to stay on the driveway because they have been bitten several times. They come running to Mom to ease their pain. I just told Texan about it MT, and he wants to know (not sure how to spell it) if it's "Diazinon", or similar? Whether it's safe or not, I will have to keep my boys on their leads, until after treatment. Oh and you're welcome sweet jojo.

DaRu,
That ant poison is called Amdro. It comes in a jug & lasts a long time. We get ours from a little Mom & Pop hardware & garden supply. Try it really works. We tried all that other stuff in the bags, granules. Nothing really got rid of the pesky ants.

Sorry almost forgot our baby got into it when she was just a few months old. It freaked me out & I called our Vet at home. Anyway he had me read off the ingredients. He told us what to do. He said that the Amdro was not harmful to a her. What happened was she was nosing around where we put it & got stung all over by the ants. he said why she swoll up was an allergic reaction to the ants not the Amdro. Her little mouth swoll up so huge she looked like a cartoon. Her lips were sticking way out. We had to put her in a cool bath & give her Benadryl. It was so sad. Anyway, he said he would have to get some of that Amdro to use around his own home. He has Boxers & they act just Boston Terriers (what we have). His gets into everything too.

Thanks a million for the tip. We'll buy some and hopefully rid of those devils..lol. I'll keep my boys on the driveway so no problem. Texan heard of Amdro but never used it. I can't wait to put some out. Those ants have invaded my plants and took over the soil. I've got to repot them all and throw the bad ant infested soil away, and add Amdro to it afterwards. I'm tired of having scars left from being bit...lol. Oh once while working in my rock garden, a spider bit me on the same spot of each thigh. I had on shorts and didn't notice or feel anyting crawling on my legs. Later both wounds got infected and began to rot. I thought I'd have to go to the ER to stop the infection, but eventually got the wounds under control. It left an indention on my left thigh, and slight scar on my right one. So, will this Amdro kill spiders and other bugs as well? I'm sure it will, but thought I'd ask. Your poor babies mouth. I could just imagen it. Another thing I want to warn people about here is putting carpet powder down and waiting to vaccumn it up. I did this a few times and didn't sweep it up right away, and not thinking, Woodrow would rub his face across the carpet, and apparently got some in his left eye. His eye swelled until it looked like it would burst. His face was also swollen. We rushed him to the hospital and they gave him a pain shot and medication to reduce the inflammation. As a result he's been seeing an eye specialist and it's damaged the nerves around his eye and left side of his face. His eye won't blink and is slightly drawn to one side now. The specialist said the nerves could eventually heal and the eye start blinking, but in the meantime, we have to put drops twice daily in his eye to deaden the pain and keep the swelling from occurring again. We've been treating his eye for nearly 8 months now and he can close it while sleeping and there's some motion. I masssage his eye and face daily which aids in his recovery. The carpet fresh is very harmful to pets.
