Panthera walks away shaking her head. She's very disappointed in the way the skills are given out.

But can I get all 3 from the one political affiliation? Probably not, and I don't think that I could switch affiliations now, it would take FOREVER.

Really, I beg to differ. I think Sleuth Admin did a good job with these new skills.

Imagine what it would be like if he made it all available like the normal skills? Some people with spare points would snap up all 3 skills in an instant. And then, what? That would be pretty boring.

Now, even those who are high in experience points with spare skill points cannot buy all 3 skills immediately. It makes the gameplay more interesting.

I see Sleuth Admin must have put some thought into it, and appreciate it.

Beg all you want Wayne. I still firmly believe that the word "anticlimactic" describes it pretty well.

I'm with Chuck on the anticlimatic-ness. We've waited in anticipation for these new skills to come, and now it turns out some of us have to wait even longer just to get them. Plus the likelihood of ever getting all three is close to zero, especially for people who aren't in agencies. It took forever to get on fair/good standings with two fractions, and people outside of agencies won't have the opportunity to swap cases and will instead have to quit and quit and quit to get under +10 - which can't really be the point of the game, can it?

I argued this point in my agency, so I might as well repeat it here. A point made by some of us is why Sleuth Admin gotta make it so hard to learn the 3 new skills (by having to quit and exchange cases and all that).

I think if anyone think it is worth the trouble to try to get all the 3 new skills, then let that person do it. If, on the other hand, any person feels it's not worth the trouble going to the trouble to get those skills you want, then that person won't do it. In other words, it's a case of whether you want it badly enough to go to the trouble.

It's similar to the situation of the contacts inthe past. Some of us had to quit so many favors to get the contact we want. (I must have quit about 50 favors.) It's a matter of how much you are willing to trade one thing for another.

What if I added a way to reset all of your political standings to zero? That way, if you really wanted all three skills, you could build up each faction in turn, and it would probably take 3 or 4 weeks total to get all three? I always intended it to be easier to switch factions, but since the standing decay doesn't effect you now, under a standing of 10, it never really turned out that way.

Well, Wayne people who aren't in agencies won't know if it's worth the trouble to go for all the skills since they won't know what they're about until they get in with the various fractions - at least for the favours we knew which were the good contacts to get.

Ben, would that mean we could reset the standings ourselves at any time we wanted to - not just start over once?

Well, Greyling, none of my members have told me what the Pick Pocketing skill is about, but I have still decided to go for DA to buy that skill.
