Dumb luck? Or does ESP really exist?

Today, for the third time in a row, my client had turned out to be the guilty person, which meant no payment for me. So in my frustration I clicked on a hard mystery (I rarely solve intermediate ones, unless I'm earning favors), chose a random person, and accused them. I was right and earned a nice reward and a good amount of skill points.
But then I immediately tried this stunt again with another hard mystery (I'm just asking for it, aren't I?) And I actually caught the right person again! Although La Cosa Notra doesn't like me very much now...and I can't seem to find the Order of Socrates in NY. *shrugs*
Thankfully, my cases ran out before I could attempt this a third time.
But was that lucky or what? :D

I believe in ESP definitely, though probably not in this case. I think 'ESP' is a bit of a misnomer though, as it somehow prejudices one into thinking that it must be somehow supernatural. How do we know that what we regard as ESP isn't just another, as yet unknown sense, therefore not being extra-sensory at all?
