Sorry if this is an old question. Just solved my first case, but I don't feel like I really got the full story of what happened. It was the comfortable case of the indian puzzle (or something like that) and for example I have know idea why it was called that, and I guessed who did it based on probability not on a full understanding of what was going on.

In short, are there explanantions of what actually happened in each case somewhere?

Yep, except for featured mysteries, the cases we solve are randomly pieced together, and the stories have nothing to do with the randomly generated titles. You'll get to know the stories so well you won't read them, but as jstkdn says, the intros vary more, and many of them were submitted by your fellow players. As far as solving goes, you will also learn what matters in determining the guilty culprit for sure, which is a combination of evidence and alibi information, for the most part.

I think it is very interesting the Jstkdn, that you say "The story is similar: someone got killed and asks you for help," I didn't know dead people could ask for help! :)
