Case Name: The Elementary Exercise of the Old-Age Shanangan. Once I had his motive, plus 2 reasons of guilt (1) wearing victim's watch, (2) washed blood off hands, I tried to accuse him, but was thrown out of game to chose another game and start all over.I lost 10 experince points, 3 points for La Cosa Nostra, plus my $100 reward.I had no options but to select the next game & forget about it. I will not say whose guilty, but if the Admin. needs to know particulars, I'd be glad to send a private message.I'd appreciate my status being updated, if at all possible. Thanks Sleuth Admin. for checking into this, if you will.

In addition to the above mentioned case, I established a motive which was he desired to steal the family heirloom. So, there must be a reason it's throwing me out of this particular case.Don't mean to complain. Sleuth Admin.please check it out and let me know. Thanks!

Evidence and a motive mean nothing if the suspect has an airtight alibi. To successully complete a case, you need

1) A motive
2) A fake alibi or no alibi
3) One piece of evidence

Thus, if a suspect has a motive, no alibi or a fake alibi, and one piece of physical or witness evidence implicating them, you have a guilty party. Having two pieces of evidence against a suspect may seem pretty solid, if their alibi checks out, then he or she is innocent.

Also, remember that the case names are random -- even if I get the same case name, the characters will be different, etc. I think.

Actually Sirgarr, since I'm not involved with the programming in any way and don't know how to program or what's involved, maybe I should keep my comment to myself? But I would take Ben's insistance on knowing the case name in order to resolve "bug" reports as a fairly certain indicator that although the case name is random, it is tied somehow to all the particulars of that random case. I suppose that means if some poor soul with nothing better to do wanted to create some kind of catalog with all several hundred thousand combinations... :-)

And giving new meaning to the "prime" suspect, I suppose...

What a catalog. :) Yeah I said "I think" because I wasn't sure -- but I think Ben insisted on that because the cases are stored in the short-term with the names attached so that's how you need to look it up. He also had to put in a longer-lasting storage function to keep track of the cases, so I don't think stuff is tied together to the name.

inspector, for once I get one of your jokes (it's good). :)

No, sirgarr was right the first time. Just because two cases have the same name, does not mean that their particulars will be the same.

However, there are about 15000 different possible case names. So, when trying to track down an individual case, the title is a good place for me to start. Each case actually has a unique case identifier, that is a number. That would be the easiest way for me to get at a particular case record. However, it's kind of difficult for you guys to see a case's ID through the browser, so I ask for the name instead.

Weather! In reply to your info above, the case I mentioned above has been resolved. The Admin. asked me to state the name of the case so they could check into it, and found the reason I couldn't access his reply to guilt was too many people were accessing this particular game at the time, (case overload I guess, ha!) Anyway,he was guilty. I did have the weapon also, so all ended well. However, thanks for everyone's input.

Oh by the way, needs for concern in regards to the case stated above. If I understood right, then it's doubtful anyone will be running across this case anytime soon, since there's hundreds, or thousands??? of cases to solve. Well, hey, I'm done for the day, so I guess I'll say..I'M OUTTA HERE!!! Wow, I'm a poet and didn't know it, ha!
