I didn't know about the Shady Character. Is there any way to get my first character back. I was just getting the hang of things and now I have to start all over.

I generally don't like violating the rules by giving players advantages or second chances unless there was a bug involved or unusual circumstances. It's not that I want to be hard on beginners, but discovering how game mechanics like the Shady Character work really are part of the game.
