Question about "Perplexing Case in Paris"

Double posting from the Newbie thread...
Spoiler-ish ahead...
I'm currently playing this case -- I'm in the very beginning of it. There's only one suspect, the grandmother, and I am not allowed to ask her any questions. There's no way for me to advance on the case, I've asked everyone in town if they knew everything and the note of the three people she seems to suspect the most just isn't coming into play...

It sounds most unusual. The typical titles of cases are "The Fantastic Hunt for the Wayward Shenanigan" or something like that, and in my experience they never contain the names of cities. Also, the only cases with only one suspect are the favours. It seems to me, although I could be wrong, that this is a new type of case, but I never came upon one so far. There was a teaser for possibly such a case in the City News some time ago under the title
"Famed Detective Cracks High Society Case". I believe the two can be connected, but unfortunately I can't help with the case. Have you tried asking the townies about the names on the note?

@Lady Jas, whenever you try to get evidence analyzed by one of the four businesses, it'll always get you signed out. I've been playing the majority of the mysteries without having to rely on that game mechanic.
But in this particular featured case, I'm just not able to advance in the game past the first suspect because there's no way to add another suspect into the fold. The intro text mentions that the first suspect gives you a note that has the name of three suspects, but those three suspects are not revealed. I end up having to waste a case because no new suspects are able to added to my list.
