I was working on a treasure hunt for the last week or so and now it's missing. Do they expire if I don't find them in a certain time period?

Treasure hunts are open to any agency and it's a race to finish it first - if another agency beat you to it, they would get the prize and it would end for everyone else. You can see who is participating and their progress in the City Hall under "Treasure Hunts" (in the Statistics section).
