I was just wondering if it really should be possible for a detective to be over 200 days old, with almost 200,000exp. and not have a second contact. Akano has left us for awhile out of frustration. I am a mess. Is there any chance that there is some mistake? I know that the second contact can be difficult to get, but really, this is ridiculous. I am looking for hope, can anyone offer it to me, please?

Yes, he was originally trying for one of two specific contacts, but was to the point where he would take any except one that we have 3 of already. To help offset that disadvantage, I was giving him my cases, solved, so he could get extra favors. He had to have been doing 20-25 cases a day when you counted the extra favors into it.

Just to share my own experience, it took me a very long time to get my second contact too. Because in "those days" (unlike now) it was possible to get 2 PE contacts, or 2 Non-PE contacts, or 1 of each. So after getting my first non-PE contact, I basically quitted all my non-PE favours, and it took me very long before landing my second contact.

Rather ironically, a week after that, changes were introduced so that each detective will have 1 PE and 1 non-PE contact. So my effort was in a sense totally wasted. But really, I have no complaints! :)

That is probably why I think I must rank highest in the number of "quit" cases, too! ;P

Thank you, everyone who has responded. You have given me the hope that I was looking for. I don't know when, or if he will be back. If he is, I know it will be comforting to know he is not alone in his quest.

I still wonder, as you do Jstkdn, if it may not be random after all, but all predetermined. That would be most upsetting!

I have same experience as wayne. took me ages too! and a day after I got the second the new rule came about not having two PE's.

I'll take a look to see if I can't ensure a second contact by aroun 150k. The way the scheme works now, it's difficult to predict.

150K???
Come on!! We cant all be in Sleuth all day..Sorry guys but i think it is not fair on the rest of us that
1) Dont have internet connection at home and thus have to play either from work or in a net cafe
2) Have chosen for the same reason not to subscribe
3) Therefore have only 3 cases per day.

It would take me years to reach 150K experience.
I have been playing Monday to Friday no fail for 2 weeks and i am still on 1300 odd.
I live playing Sleuth and nteracting you all but knowning that i have to wait until 150K for a second contact would take away from the game, esp since without a second contact you cant really solve the very very very hard cases and without them you cant get really get the experience...So i understand that admin probably knows best but it would be a real shame to dishearten us that much...

I think what the Admin is saying here is that you'll still be able to get the second contact before that point but after 150k the likelihood of getting the second contact will be significantly increased. As for doing the harder cases you can get by if you have a good build up of interview skills but incredibly hard and beyond are all luck if you don't have that 2nd contact and you have a gap in your evidence skills
