I'm a tough and smart detective, and so far, i've got

Interrogation
Intimidation
Advanced Interrogation
Intermediate Interrogation

should I get research already? if not, what skills would you recommend?

i'm currently playing at easy to intermediate level.

thanks in advance.

Interesting that you pulled up such an old thread, but actually, I have a feeling you're running into problems because you're gaining more experience, and perhaps trying harder level cases. Acquiring new skills should actually make working cases easier. Another problem you may be facing is by having both tough and charming skills, if you don't have Judge of Character, you may not know when is the best situation to use your tough skills, and when it's best to use charming. Again, I can't be certain exactly what skills you do or don't have, but the above scenario is the whole point for having J.o.C.
Hope this helps a bit! Good luck! ;-)

Although I'm Also Newb >,<, I've been playing for a couple of days, I have to recomment getting Hair and Thread Analysis first. Like what many said above, it's essential to find as much evidence as possible. It narrows your suspects down quite a bit. Before I got the two, I found cases painful. Try for those first. After you've gotten those, then I recommend getting research.

Hello! Can someone please tell me how to spend my skill points? I have some skill points unspent. Furthermore...I can't buy new skills... :(
I looked at the detective page, at skills, but I couldn't find anything that would help me in this "case"!
Thanks!

"Case" solved...so the skill points are used to buy skills!
I hadn't enough skill points to buy something...
Sorry for filling the post!

Can anyone help me decide between advanced rule bending or intermediate sweet talking? :-)

I'd go for the intermediate sweet talking so you are well balanced. But that's just me.

Which are you having trouble more with? The townies or the Suspects? If your having more trouble with townies, then I'd recommend buying advanced rule bending. If your having trouble with suspects, I'd recommend buying intermediate sweet talking.

Hehe I'm having equal trouble...but I was thinking advanced rule bending just because if a pile of suspects all claim the same PE townsperson as an alibi, I'll get more questions... :-/ But I've been recently having more suspects clam before I get alibis...grr. :-)

I think I'm going to go with the Rule Bending...I can always figure out clammed alibis other ways... I'd rather have the PE. :-)

Since you need both as a Charming detective, it's a six-of-one, half-a-dozen kind of answer you're asking for. My money'd be on the Sweet-Talking, since you have a lot more options through your Agency with getting townie help. There are much fewer options if you have all your suspects clam. Again, that's my two cents. You'll need both fairly, so whichever you don't get now, you'll be going for soon anyway. ;-)
