Glitch when analyzing evidence?

I played this game many years ago and recently found myself wanting to play again. Already on my first case though, I seemed to have come across a glitch where trying to ask the bank and tailor to analyze evidence sends me to the login screen (without actually logging me out). I have no other pieces of evidence to test it out on but I don’t want to quit my first case to seen otherwise. I have tried this on both my laptop and my phone so I don’t think it’s my browser. I can’t recall if you’re supposed to try and gather samples from the suspects but if so I don’t know how to do that because I can’t talk to them anymore. (I have also tried clicking on every suspect when being asked who it may belong to to see if maybe clicking the wrong one is causing it).

I have sent a bug report but I wanted to see if anyone has come across this and if there is a solution because I could not find a forum about it and it is very frustrating.

I'm having trouble doing anything right now: screens are taking so long to load that often the browser boots me out. You should be able to talk to the townies to analyse evidence, and you shouldn't have to gather samples from the suspects. It's looking like you just picked a bad time to come back, when the glitch elves are running rampant. Hopefully things will get cleared up soon - welcome back!

Okay, so apparently it was specifically the case I was working on, which was the Murder in Manhattan scripted mystery. I looked up walkthrough and went ahead and accused the murderer. The normal cases after that seem to be fine so far.

You are absolutely right about the loading time though. I haven't been booted out by a browser but one moment, it's loading fine, then next I have time to grab a snack before it's on the next page. Besides that, the game is working as I remember and if it keeps me interested I may join a subscription (something I am pretty sure was not there back when I played lol).

Scripted mysteries do that when you try to go beyond the scripted lines. Trying to analyze any evidence normally would throw me out. You have to look for more interesting lines such as "Tell me something about this thread." Or similar.

Well I did end up looking up a walkthrough and went in order after that but who know.
