Question about Apartments

A little story to start, skip the first paragraph for the actual question if you don't feel like reading through this. So, I read an advice somewhere on here that you could swap out equipment, rotating in smart equipment before searching the crime scene, then switching to tough or charming equipment before interviewing suspects and witnesses. And to do so, one would need an apartment, and furniture to actually store your extra equipment.

So I arrive at these questions.

1. You need to be subscribed to purchase an apartment, right? What's the floor area for the first and second cheapest rooms? I found another site that lists floor area occupied by each furniture, and I am wondering if the largest equipment storage can fit in the floor area of the cheapest room, assuming no other furniture will be bought.

2. Once the subscription expires, can you still swap the equipment in and out of the drawer? I did read that you can still access the apartment itself, and take out your equipment, but I would like to know if you can put IN your equipment into the storage.

Hopefully someone can help me with these.

The cheapest apartment is the one room studio which costs $80000, and you'll have to spend additional $100000 on furniture to store five items of equipment. The floor area is 300 sqft per room. You'll be able to use the apartment as before when the subscription expires, except for bying and selling furniture or inviting guests. But the cheapest solution for a single detective is a small agency where you can store equipment as well as file cases. Purchasing an agency also requires subscription. When it expires, you'll still be able to access the equipment, but not the case files.

Thank you for your response, that was very informative.

My first plan was exactly as you described, buying the cheapest apartment and the most expensive equipment furniture that would fit. By your statement, I assume that the 5-capacity furniture will fit in the one room studio.

Thank you for that suggestion, I hadn't even considered it before. I do have another question about renting though:

Does the renting payment stop when my subscription expires? Or do I have to keep paying rent until I run out of money or leave the agency?

Agency rent is collected every day, regardless of the subscription status of the agents. If you fall behind a few days you’ll be locked out. Unlike olden days, the agency and everything on it still exists, you just won’t be able to access anything until you pay up (rent doesn’t keep accruing once you’re locked out -an agency that’s been inactive for years can be reactivated fairly cheaply).

That's good to know. Thanks Jesse!
