I think the factions in this game were roughly based on the following organizations;
Order of Socrates = freemasonry
Arcanum Brotherhood = Opus Dei
Eastern Triads = speaks for itself. triads or perhaps Yakuza
La Cosa Nostra = pretty obvious, Sicilian/Italian maffia
Green Hand = Animal Liberation Front or Earth First
Circle of Light = not so sure, could be one of those wacky groups as the Branch Davidians or something
Any thoughts on the latter?
