The hints that the barber, etc. give you does that mean if so and so thinks they know who the killer is, that the person will mention the guilty party when asked who has motive? Just curious

Yep, that's what I meant. As sometimes it's not possible to find out what the alibi is supposed to be or whether it's valid or not.

But it is a good little point to remember not to accuse someone if it happens to say "real" next to their alibi, as that person will never be the culprit.

but don't forget...THEY ALL LIE. There's always the chance that if the barber says so and so saw something, that when you go and ask so and so, he'll keep saying "I don't know anything"...so either he's lying or the butcher is
But good luck and hope you have lots of fun playing...and TRUST NO ONE ;)

as far as i know Connor that isnt right. The merchants send you to a person that knows something. It just doesnt mean that he/she will point you in right direction(i mean suspect here) but they will always know something.

I agree with reda. And they might not answer about the suspect you ask them about, but I believe that if the townsperson says that so-and-so thinks he or she knows who did it, then so-and-so will finger /someone/ - providing he or she doesn't clam first, of course.
