For all those budding sleuths out there I need you to answer me a question, who or what is Neurocam? I know this may sound simple, but believe me these people weave a mysterious web.

Well, if their desire is to get people involved in a lot of speculation and hype, it's succeeding.

And if it's a game, it sounds like it might be fun.

As long as it's not some stupid hidden camera thing or other prank!

I've done a little research and found some interesting web sites. Common belief is that Neurocam is a social experiment, but there are theories that it is a con game or just a regular role playing game. Either way, a lot of the people involved are art students/professors, which explains this page:

Here is what looks like a "Preview" for Neurocam:

And here is an in-depth discussion that contains many links to blogs:

Here's the "Who's who" of Neurocam:

And one of the most popular and informative blogs related to Neurocam:

Anyone have any good theories on this?

I agree jstkdn. I doubt it very much they would be physically located overseas and it seems most of the activity is located around Melbourne, Australia. If you have signed up let me know what happens or alternativly post it on this thread. I am really interested to find out the scope of Neurocams reach.

Actually, I've read that they are all over the world. People are participating from Europe, USA and other places.

Weird and creepy. Never heard of it before. I advise the "operatives" to be careful. It looks to me like it's an agency that uses *sorry for the term* people to pass out documentations not seen by the government.

I know I may be wrong, but, it's really weird. And why do you have to give so much personal information? If I lived in the places where I could "play", I 'd be too afraid to try it.

Anyway, I hope you'll be careful Ace.

I don't think there's anything sinister going on here people. I know it may sound a little freaky but I believe it may be more of an experience thing, you know, getting you doing things for a bit of fun, intrigue, mystery, things you wouldn't normally do... You must admit, climbing under bridges late at night looking for hidden safes does sound kinda cool???

If it is an all over the world game. The game can differ from being lame and hoax like, to a genuine spy game. It sounds like Ace is getting the good end of that stick.

Ace, I received nothing yet.

I suppose it sounds cool - but I think that while most of it is fun, some isn't - I don't know what makes me think that - Neurocam just doesn't seem right to me - it hasn't since a year ago when I first heard about it.
Aside from that, maybe there is nothing sinister, but most people would say there's nothing sinister about someone who earned a living by using their artistic skills to produce paintings that were normally either used for postcards or sold to the public. But a lot of people saw nothing sinister about a painter and turned out very wrong. That's just an example of a popular opinion being wrong, not a comparison.
