Suspects file

I have a file folder with dozens of suspects that I've written notes about from the Featured Mysteries and Kept because I figure the FM have more continuity in that the same characters come up from story to story and when they do I can look up their file like a real detective would have on their clients and other persons of interest. I alphabetize them to make it easier. I just want to know if this really helps in FM and how often reoccurring characters come up and if they remain the same or if different authors have liberty to change characteristics like whether someone is right or left-handed or something that would make narrowing down suspects difficult. I realize that now that we have Notes on the website, this may be redundant but I also have a pad where I keep salient info to the case in general to keep track of important info too cuz there tends to be a lot of info given in FMs.

Hello Dixon,

For Featured Mysteries and Scripted Mysteries, I would like to direct you to my agency's website:

http://msn4655.wixsite.com/shaded-legends/scripted-mysteries

Our site provides you with guides, written by yours truly, and have the whole story laid out and what steps you need to take.

In my opinion, it does help to keep track of certain characteristics; however, since FM's and SM's differ from regular cases, due to the liberty given to the authors, it's wise to read everything you see (questions, answers, plot twists) and make some form of note of it.

Anyway, if you're stuck on a FM or SM, feel free to use the appropriate guide for it; one can never go wrong with those!

Hope this has answered your question(s)!

Is there any difference between Featured Mysteries and Scripted Mysteries?

As far as I know, Tyranomaster, there isn't any difference. The only difference there might be is that there's one free Featured Mystery in NY (although I can't verify it at this moment), but you'll need a subscription for most FM's / SM's, since they're spread all over Sleuth :)

Featured Mysteries are the scripted mysteries that are immediately visible on your case page for the city you are in. They're like the "Feature Film Presentations" of scripted mysteries. :)
