No, those banner ads aren't some spyware that's snuck onto your browser. Sleuth has joined a banner exchange program in order to drum up some more traffic. We've been stuck at a fairly contant number of players for awhile now, and would like the community to expand.

Leave any complaints or comments you have about them here. In particular, I want to know whether anybody is having page layout problems because of them.

I'm still getting used to them myself.

Ok, I was confused.

(I didn't have any banners.)

Now I see they are just for non-subs.

Ok, I checked them out on a non-sub.

Ben, you need to make that "Turn Banner Ads Off" BIGGER!

Thank You! It helps so much to have them gone!

And heres me thinking my anti everything software was working. I have terrible problems with pop-ups, banners and virus'. I'll wait to see if they upset my two firewalls and three popup blockers.

For a banner ad, they really aren't that bad. It could be much worse. Thank you for asking.

Too bad you already took them away.

I guess are pro's and cons to it. Cons obviously visible and blinking a lot. :) Although I don't think no one would leave this site over a banner.
But would answer the question "Do you like the banner?" with an obvious no.

But I am sure there are now less visible pro's to it, like: site not running at a loss, Ben being paid for his time, Ben turning this as a full time job one day, hardware upgrades next time they are required, additions or other improvements etc.

I'd hate to turn down a banner if that was the case. For all your hard work Ben, I think you should be paid, and most definitely not run at a loss.

From a non-subscriber's point of view, I don't mind the banner ads - it's the flashing that is the problem. I find it really annoying.

And maybe you could reword the "turn off banner ads" link to "turn off banner ads by subscribing". I clicked on the link several times, only to be taken to a subscription page. It was only when I came in here and read the messages that the penny dropped!

I don't subscribe, so don't feel I can really complain, but I'm with Wayne Williams Jnr. I find them very distracting. I can't turn them off even if I click on the turn off banner ads either. But hope it gets more users!
