Hey everybody. :D How about some Resistance? It doesn't matter whether you're an old hand or just somebody curious about all this "filthy spy" business and thinking about giving it a whirl - all are welcome to play! I won't be able to come up with a background story for this one, but you can throw in some drama if you wish. :D

Rules:

The game consists of five missions; the Resistance needs 3 successful missions to win, while the spies are looking to sabotage 3. First team to 3 wins.

As soon as we have a final list of players (we need a minimum of 5 players, and a max of 10), I will PM everyone their allegiance (whether they’re a part of the “Resistance” or if they’re a “Spy”) and create a List with the names of all the players in a random order. Spies will also be informed of the identities of the all the other spies.

A "leader" will be chosen from the top of the List for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected to form a team; the leader picks the team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in the List becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically).
Once a mission team is approved, the players on that team will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by PMing me a "SUCCEED" vote, while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "SABOTAGE" the mission.

Once the team members send me their actions, I will post the results of the mission. You will know if the mission succeeded or failed, and you will know what the actions were, but you will NOT know who chose what action; they will be revealed at random.

The name of the game is information and MISinformation. The resistance is trying to figure out who the spies are, so that missions don't get sabotaged. The spies are trying everything they can to avoid detection, so that they can be chosen and sabotage missions.

You may talk about ANYTHING on the message boards involving the game. However, if information comes to you from me in a PM, it is YOUR CHOICE what to do with that information. You can keep it to yourself, you can be honest, or you can lie.

YOU MAY NOT PM OTHER PLAYERS ABOUT THE GAME! All discussion must take place here in the message board so that everyone is privy to it. Spies can NOT talk privately about strategy! The only PMs sent regarding the game should be to or from me, as the game master.

If you'd like to play, please post here or PM me. The game usually lasts around two weeks; if you’re reasonably sure you will be able to check in at least once a day, it should go smoothly. Spots have been reserved for players who've signed up for the previous game; please PM me or post here to confirm or cancel your participation. I'm looking forward to seeing a nice mixed-up crowd. :D

And we're off. PMing everyone their allegiances now. If you're part of the Resistance, you only know your own allegiance. If you're a spy, I will also PM you the identity of your co-conspirator. You may only conspire over the boards.

There are 5 players; 3 are part of the Resistance and 2 are spies.

*Since there are only five players, ONE SABOTAGE vote is enough to cause the failure of any mission, mission 4 included.
