I can't be the only person who loathes scripted mysteries, right?

I wanted to do them for the experience points and for something a little different, but I always get them wrong. Always. I feel like it's usually a pretty far jump from what you get from the story to actually accusing someone.

And this is just on intermediate. Am I missing something here? What are your opinions? How do you tackle the challenge? Should I read more mystery novels? lol

Hello Mrs. Cullen,

Could you please tell which Scripted Mystery you have tried? Maybe I can be of assistance, as I have played all of them and even written a few playthrough guides for the somewhat newer Scripted Mysteries. Those are currently in the progress of being uploaded to a website ;)

Vulkie has done a terrific job of putting these together. They're very well written and
they're guaranteed to help any scripted mystery buff who needs a little help along the way :-D

I, for one, am very appreciative of Vulkie's work on this!!!

Oh, wow! That might help in the future. I actually wasted like three cases on 1 the other day (I was determined to finish it someway or another!!!) But since then I threw in the towel for a bit, until I learned the secret (or that there was not secret) to solving them!

Well, should you ever need a guide, you can possible look at our agency's website: http://msn4655.wixsite.com/shaded-legends/scripted-mysteries

Be aware that some links are not working yet; Miss Shell Marple is working on correcting those ;)

And maybe, in the near future, I'll have time to document the ones that aren't available anymore, since Sleuth Tips went down :(

Ah, you all are awesome! And yes, I sadly left Sleuth for a long while and missed it at it's prime popularity when sleuth tips was the happening place.

There are scripted mysteries out there that I feel almost require a random guess so vague are the clues to the guilty party. Plus in scripted mysteries the usual rules don't apply, so you can have false alibis and (sometimes multiple pieces of) crime scene evidence point to someone who is not guilty :s

That is very true Squirrel, that is very true. But that's why I'm making the guides, for those people who get confused by a scripted mystery. I feel that somewhere, there should be a FAQ about what Scripted Mysteries are, how they differ from regular cases and well, now with my guides being published online, there shouldn't be that much trouble on the matter ;)

In regards to previous comment, wasn't fully awake apparently - https://noir.playsleuth.com/help/featured.html

There's already a FAQ with the stuff I described ;)

I have also played (almost) all of them and would be happy to be of assistance. I know who all the guilty suspects are :)
