Hello everyone. I’ll be hosting another game of Resistance, and I encourage all lurkers from the previous game(s) to come out and play! We’ll keep it simple with just gameplay and no story this time. And if you’ve never played before, feel free to jump right in, because we all need more imaginary problems to worry about. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

Zara has chosen to ESTABLISH CONFIDENCE with Sal. I will PM Sal with Zara's allegiance.

Zara has chosen to give OVERHEARD CONVERSATION to miss snopes. Once miss snopes chooses the person she wants to use it on (Zara or Sal), I will PM her with that person's allegiance.

I wish to use OVERHEARD CONVERSATION on Sal.

I have 100% confidence in Zara's allegiance as Resistance but as she is revealing her allegiance to Sal, my verifying his allegiance will verify hers in a roundabout way.

I understand that I do not have to wait for either Sal or miss snopes to post anything about their 'fidings'. And, of course, they may choose not to in any case. I will therefore go ahead and select a team.

Proposal for Mission 5, Team 1

- Sal
- Sindy
- shell
- Zara
- miss snopes

Oh crap! I logged in half-expecting the spies lording their win over us. We live to fight another mission, huh? Resistance, we have to get this mission absolutely right. Missy, I think you did the best thing you could have the way the cards were dealt this round. However, I would really have liked to have had my allegiance revealed using a card since I cannot be trusted to talk Resistance-ly. :/ I can't wait to see what Missy and Sal have to say.

I am Resistance and off this team, so I'm definitely voting no. I urge the other members of the Resistance to at least wait until Missy and Sal tell us what they have learnt. If Zara is Res, I will only vote yes to a team with myself, Zara, Sal, shell, and Missy on it. I'm not sure how that would be determined though, so I'll think about that once the revealing is done. If Ty, Sindy, and Aspen turn out to be the spies, that would be interesting.

Mission 5, team 1: NO.

Resistance, please vote NO to this mission because Sal is a spy!!!!!!! I was given this info from Mr. Announcer.

We can all go back through this game now using this info and hopefully, figure out his 2 spy cohorts.

Initial thoughts. Sal is a spy. I wasn’t expecting that but let’s go with it. From where I’m standing, if Sal is a spy then his cohorts must be Ty and Aspen. This vindicates Sindy who outed both as spies earlier in the game: she *must* be Resistance. If she were lying about either of them then that makes her a spy. But if that were so, then both she and Sal would have made the last mission fail, however there was only one sabotage vote.

Because of the link between Sal and shell (Mission 2, Team 3) it raises the possibility of shell being a spy. However, yet again, this is dashed because they would both surely have voted Sabotage on the last mission and thus won the whole game for the spies.

I’m Resistance. My strongest beliefs in other players as Resistance - so far - have been for shell and miss snopes. It’s possible I’m wrong about either one. However, if miss snopes is lying about Sal then that would make her a spy. But who would we place alongside her?

I’m very keen to see what Sal reports and I hope he will do so soon. In the meantime I’m withholding my vote on the team proposal.

Holy crap! I'm going to be shelling out some dough at the end of this game.

Bela, why the heck were you acting so spy-ish?

Note to self: Avoid tunnel vision when playing Resistance. :(

Here's my earlier post on my thoughts about Sal (before I became fixated on Bela)

Here's are the pros and cons in my mind regarding Sal:

1. He skipped over Ty who I now know is a spy.
2. However, he skipped over Ty to put me and AspenK (another spy on his team)? Why would he skip over Ty to avoid a spy and then put another spy on his team? It would look a little *too* suspicious if he skipped over too many people?
3. He has (to me at least) acted somewhat out of character throughout this game, but I have only played one other Resistance game with him.
4. In the Resistance game I played with him he was Resistance and as Resistance he skipped over players to include players further down the list because as he said lots of times the players at the bottom of the list don't really get to be involved in game play (if it's a large game). My point being it's not out of character for him as a Resistance player to skip over other players.
5. Sal was all to willing to vote "no" on his own team to pass leadership down to Ty.

Unfortunately, I have nothing on Missy except that, like Zara, she almost always voted "yes."
