Hello everyone. I’ll be hosting another game of Resistance, and I encourage all lurkers from the previous game(s) to come out and play! We’ll keep it simple with just gameplay and no story this time. And if you’ve never played before, feel free to jump right in, because we all need more imaginary problems to worry about. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

And how exactly have I written you off as a filthy spy when I am proposing you to go on this fifth team? One that if the resistance vote no to will cause the spies to win by default. Maybe devote some time to reread the three post I posted directly above you.

I guess this was vague enough to not get my thoughts across.

*Unless someone can convince me I'm wrong I will be offering the team of players who voted no. I'll do that later today to give people a chance to argue their points. *

That will be a team of Sal, Bela, Sindy, shell, miss snopes. I just didn't want to list the names because it is not my official proposal at the moment. I want to give everyone a chance to weigh in before I make it official.

Shell, I was asking you about your thought so I can know how to deal with you, not to vote. Because as I said, you are one of my suspects. And I know clearly that you are holding the strong leader. That means you can totally control the team you want and force all of us to accept what you want. So what I asked you is for sure if we have any chance to win this game. Because if you are a spy, we are done. Actually, at that time, I still had a very little hope that you will forget to use strong leader (if you are a spy) so we can have 1 more chance. But it comes obviously that you don't :D

OK! So if you are a spy, nothing else to say. We lose. The only hope is you are a resistance so we can have 1 more chance. At this point, hope is only thing I have. Go, shell!

In case you are a resistance, shell, I would say your argument is not exactly. Because the yes votes are from people who on the team. So if a resistance is on the team, why should they vote no? Or if a spy is not on the team, why should they vote yes?

I am not trying to be in this team. This mission requires 2 sabotage to be fail. So you can make 1 mistake adding 1 spy to the team. So it's OK if only I am not in the team. But please consider carefully to not add the second spy, shell.

Shell, you should put me on your team. I'm a great addition to any mission.

It did cross my mind you were doing a litmus test, Shell. I should have had more faith in you. My apologies.

I am good with your proposed team. Of course, I disagree with your analysis of who the spies are, but this will get us through to the next mission where hopefully some cards will come into play that will shed some light on the situation.

Well, you have at least one spy on your team, shell. I know that simply because I’m RESISTANCE and I’m not on it. The RESISTANCE can now only hope and pray that you don’t have two - or even all three. But however many spies you have there it’s all academic now. We *have to* vote YES - for to vote NO is to award an automatic victory to the SPIES.

In regard to the team choice: your reasoning seems to be the converse of my own earlier conjecture i.e. you attribute the status of SPY to YES votes and RESISTANCE to NO votes. Interesting.

Btw I’m taking bets. If anyone wants to bet against me being RESISTANCE I’ll take anything from $50K upwards. Thus, when it’s game over and all is revealed, I should have tidy payout due : )

Sal, Missy - please post something. The fate of the Resistance rests on the decision Shell has to make on this team. As she thinks I'm a spy she's not really going to put too much weight on my opinion, so please speak up here.

@ Zara, trust me I have also thought of the other scenarios and my other option is Zara, ty Aspen and I resistance Missy's no vote because she is a spy. But who do I put in her place. And right now Sindy has fought darn hard for her resistance status. Ty and Aspen have hardly defended themselves, well Ty more so than Aspen.

Sorry shell, I did understand what you meant in your original post, but this being the M4 team, you could still think I'm a spy but be willing to bet that if so, I'm the *only* spy in that lineup. I don't think anybody else thinks I might be Resistance though, and I don't have all that much to defend myself with, except that my moves are clearly Resistance even if my words may not seem so. You said multiple times that you have followed all my posts and agreed with most of it until I do something that flies in the face of it. WHAT DO YOU MEAN, I've been disgustingly (basically stupidly!) transparent about all my actions (first, I blame opinion maker. And I don't know why everybody else followed suit; I probably asked people for their thoughts at times but it'll be a while now before I ever do that in a game of Resistance! I'll try my best to explain my thought process at the time. (I'll admit that judgment has been rotten though; I've flip-flopped on things so many times but I'm pretty sure that was in my head XD).

I actually still back the team I proposed this mission (Aspen, Bela, miss snopes, Sal, shell). We'll have to be really careful with this proposal, I realise that, but the fact that only Aspen and I voted YES to that team leads me to wonder if it was clean (well, probably clean minus one). In that case, the spy on the team voted no and the Res player off the team voted no too.
