Hello everyone. I’ll be hosting another game of Resistance, and I encourage all lurkers from the previous game(s) to come out and play! We’ll keep it simple with just gameplay and no story this time. And if you’ve never played before, feel free to jump right in, because we all need more imaginary problems to worry about. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

Oh, hell. I am going to give this one last shot.

Who tipped you off to the fact that you shouldn’t be giving away how you’re going to vote on teams on the message boards? Who has talked about spy strategy throughout this game?

Me.

This coming from a Resistance player who enjoys playing as a spy – not because I like deceiving people and being manipulative (I wasn’t lying about my stomach being in knots every time I had to post the first two times I played as Resistance), but because I like the mental challenge of that aspect of the game. What I have told you in this game is going to make it that much harder for me to play as a spy next time I actually do play as a spy and some of it, like the double spy team, were dearly held strategies that I wanted to try myself. I did it because I am Resistance, and I really want my team to win.

I’m not going to rehash everything else I’ve already posted. If it didn’t convince you when I said it the first time it’s not going to convince you just because I said it again.

Please think good and hard about your vote on this team.

I agree Sindy, everyone needs to think long and hard about this vote. If Zara believes what she said earlier then we know what team she will propose. It will be the fifth team and the one resistance will have to pin their hopes on.

I wonder about you because you are trying extremely hard to influence the vote. Also you and Bela have been pointing fingers at each other, it muddys the water if both of you are spies. Who do we believe?

My vote is in, hopefully everyone will give this team due consideration.

"If Zara believes what she said earlier then we know what team she will propose."

Not necessarily, shell. That was my immediate conjecture after seeing the votes for the last proposal. If your team is approved, then my own proposal will be affected by the result of the mission - if the game isn't over at that point. Btw I put my vote in several hours ago.

Mission 4, Team 4: NO.

Sorry I was late, and I'm very sorry the rest of the Resistance has pretty much written me off as a spy, but then I haven't been around too much to be able to present my side of things too well. :/

From the beginning of the game, I always explain about my vote so you can understand my thought easier. Because I think it's the 1st time I play with you so I should open up. But if you think it will benefit the spies, I will stop doing it.

I am going to send my vote for this team.

The mission proposal has been REJECTED by a vote of 5-3. The votes are as follows.

Sal Iva NO

Leadership will now move on to Zara, unless shell wishes to use STRONG LEADER.

After that has been decided, will the next leader please propose a team of five people. Then everyone must PM me "Mission 4, Team 5: YES/NO" within 24 hours after the proposal.

Yes I do want to use strong leader.

That team was meant to fail, but it was Missy I expected the yes vote from, not Zara.

Now for an explanation of my team choice last time. I knew Sindy,Bela, and Sal would vote no. Mainly because they were not on the team. Resitance would vote no for obvious reasons and spys would vote no because a yes vote would be like waving a red flag saying spy right here.
Ty and Aspen's votes I was unsure of but thought it would be nice if they voted yes.
It was Missy and Zara that I had reservations about. Mostly Missy, she has gone through this whole game with hardly anyone considering her as a spy. I was hoping to out her with this team. Instead it was Zara with the yes vote.

Unless someone can convince me I'm wrong I will be offering the team of players who voted no. I'll do that later today to give people a chance to argue their points.
