Hello everyone. I’ll be hosting another game of Resistance, and I encourage all lurkers from the previous game(s) to come out and play! We’ll keep it simple with just gameplay and no story this time. And if you’ve never played before, feel free to jump right in, because we all need more imaginary problems to worry about. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

The mission proposal has been REJECTED by a vote of 4-1. The votes are as follows.

Aargh, I knew I'd forgotten something yesterday! Would have voted NO anyway.

So this will be my (fairly weird) not-a-spy defence: when I'm a spy, I really really never seem this spy-ish! I don't know what it is that's come over me, but this game and the last, I've made posts and appeals that came off distinctly spy-ish. I know it, I can see it. I am however certain that I need to say that at that point of time, so I go ahead anyway. Up until now, all this has done is confuse a few lurkers (not us, I mean proper non-playing lurkers) terribly and make it harder to figure out if I'm Resistance...when I'm Resistance. When I'm a spy my inner Resistance-ness just shines through. :P. All of this you could put under character evidence, and give it as much weight as you will. I completely understand if you are suspicious of me right now, really. Anyway.

You're right Missy, shell voting SUCCEED (if she did; if she didn't, then the spies are Sal, shell, and Sindy) does not mean she can't be a spy. I was just going off the succeed/resistance connection for the most part, and I meant that with Sal saying that she voted success, the odds of her being Res were good. There are so many loopholes there though.

Could somebody please post which team it was that Sindy vetoed? I tried looking for that post yesterday but I gave up in 5 mins, phones are just too aggravating. If Ty and Sindy, or Aspen and Sindy were spies, do their team proposals and votes make sense?

@ Zara

I told you why I wanted everyone to vote it down. Because AspenK is up next as team leader and she is a spy. I want someone who is resistance to get the power cards so Resistance can figure out who the third spy is. I don't know what's so hard to get about that?

I can only conclude that you're deliberately being obtuse and trying to muddy the waters.

Or you're just paranoid (Zara). This game does that to you.

Which brings me to, Bela.

Bela, this is why I have a problem with you being resistance.

1. That old "I'm not voting for a team unless I'm on" it typically used by spies.

2. If you were resistance you would have at least acknowledge the fact that I *might* be telling the truth. Even Zara, although very begrudgingly, did put an "if" in her post.

3. Your support of AspenK. I still can't figure out what "secret spy" stuff you were referring to when you said she talked about things on the board you wouldn't talk about if you were a spy. Indeed, I have talked more about spy strategy than anyone.

I have no problem understanding your supposed reasoning, Sindy.

However, that reasoning does not stand up against your claim to have identified two of the spies. If that is the case them your team selection should pose no problems. It can only have one spy on it - maximum. Since there could only ever be one SABOTAGE vote at most, the mission would therefore automatically be won by the RESISTANCE.

Why would a true member of the RESISTANCE throw away such an opportunity? And to give control to an alleged spy?

Because we don't have to just win this round, we have to win the next round as well. In order to win the next round we have to know who that third spy is. Resistance *has* to be perfect the next Mission. If we have even one spy on our team that Mission will fail. We're not just trying to win a battle here, We're trying to win the war. I put the team I think most likely to win together so my fellow Resistance players can see what I think that is. AspenK has control insofar as she puts the team together, Resistance has control in that they are in the majority and can veto any team they think is *fishy.*

Maybe I'm just a bad communicator. :/ I'm trying to be as transparent here as I can be. If that's the case, I'm sorry.

I'm pretty certain now who the third spy is:

Bela Talbot, III

Haven't I seen this movie before?

I just noticed AspenK and Bela didn't vote. Thereby trying to indicate to everyone else that they were *hoping* the team would pass and implicate me as being a spy. My hat is off to you spies, seriously.

The mission I proposed is right up above your own post, Bela. Don't know how you could have missed it.

Resistance, this is now the spy plan. They can afford to lose this Mission. Resistance has to pick a perfect team next Mission. They are now going to throw as much $*#% at the fan as possible to muddy the waters as much as possible. They will be willing to throw two spies under the bus to get to their goal because they only need one spy to win.

No I'm not using strong leader.
I think Bela meant your first team proposal. The one you used no confidence on.
