Hello everyone. I’ll be hosting another game of Resistance, and I encourage all lurkers from the previous game(s) to come out and play! We’ll keep it simple with just gameplay and no story this time. And if you’ve never played before, feel free to jump right in, because we all need more imaginary problems to worry about. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

With so many "NO" votes I now wonder if that was a clean team? This game can get you coming and going.

Of course, with everyone announcing on the boards how they're voting it makes it much easier for the spies to cover themselves. They're no sense in the spies voting "YES" for a mission and potentially give themselves away if they can discern from the posts that the team will be voted down by the resistance players anyway.

In any event, this team will obviously pass because Resistance is the majority. So, we'll see what happens.

It does make me wonder if it could have been a clean team or maybe because of all the announced votes we Resistance members are being easily influenced into following suit because we have NO idea who is who.

I can't help but wonder if some of the mentions of how people are going to vote is a spy letting their fellow spies know how they are voting.

I also find it interesting that 2 of these 4 team members were on the team that failed the mission (Ty & shell) & we came out of that mission learning nothing. (Other than Sal "said" shell voted SUCCEED).

Well, three of the team that Ty is proposing - Ty, Sindy and Aspen - were also on the team that succeeded, missy (Mission 1, Team 2). Confusing or what?

You're right. It just holds a little less weight to me because it is the first mission. This entire game is confusing.

I mean this specific one not Resistance as a whole.

Dashing, I know you haven't acknowledged this team proposal yet, but please count my vote on it now anyway, I probably won't be around later.

Mission 3, Team 5: YES.

Fifth team everybody, just vote YES.

I think there's some merit to the idea that since practically everybody's declaring their vote on the boards, the spies know how to vote in order to continue lying low. They could even be the ones leading the charge and convincing Res players to vote the same way. :/ WHERE IS OC?!

missy, if you go back you will see that Sal not only "said" shell voted succeed but thar Sal DID vote succeed. If you read the board you will also see that he used Spotlight on himself AFTER he had already sent his vote in and only used Spotlight at the request of other players. Let's not have selective memories, anyone.

I was the only person who voted yes on the last team. Nobody else. Why would anyone want it pushed to the fifth team? Then we are stuck with whatever someone throws out.

Why? Not sure, but it seems we are having a difficult time coming to anything remotely resembling a consensus.

As for what we know
Sal and shell have link through keeping an eye on you and to a degree because Sal used Spotlight on himself.

Which means: shell resistance/ sal resistance
Or shell resistance/ sal spy.
Also
Ty and Bela, one of them sabotaged the last mission, one of them is a spy!

I am Resistance and I am telling the other resistance members the only facts we have.
