Hello everyone. I’ll be hosting another game of Resistance, and I encourage all lurkers from the previous game(s) to come out and play! We’ll keep it simple with just gameplay and no story this time. And if you’ve never played before, feel free to jump right in, because we all need more imaginary problems to worry about. :)

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions." The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

I will serve as game master. Once we get enough people to play (5-10 total), I will PM everyone their allegiance (either "Resistance" or "Spy"). If you are a "Spy," I will also PM you the names of your co-conspirators.

A "leader" will be chosen at random for the first mission. The leader has 2 important functions:
1) The leader will assign various "role" abilities to players. These are one-shot special powers a player can use to learn more information about someone.
2) The leader will assign players to the "team" for that mission.

Missions will have a varying number of players who are selected; the leader picks a team, then every player will vote on whether or not they approve the team by PMing me. Once all the votes are cast, I will post the voting results. If a majority approves the team, the mission starts. If not, the mission does not start, and the next player in line becomes the new "leader" for that round. This continues until either a mission is approved, or 5 consecutive mission teams are rejected (in which case the spies win automatically.)

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success," while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.

OMG it's the floating head! Sorry Sindy, but every time I see Detective 316 online that's what I think. The shadows conceal the neck so well, it really is kind of creepy.

As for your new avatar, I don't see it. ;-)

I guess my days of parading around anonymously as Detective316 are over. :o

It's okay, Shell, that's kind of why I picked that avatar, and - well, she's older - like me.

@ Miss Snopes

That certainly is what could have happened. I just realized that I hadn't yet voted on my own proposed team. Everyone seems to be pretty quiet, so all I can do is try to interpret their silence as best I can. :)

Umm... so saying your resistance is proof you aren't a spy. I dont understand why people state it. No one is going to say hi I am a spy. Haha. I am resistance though, no worries. I am just trying to follow everyone's logic. So many posts this game.

Thanks Bela. I tend to log in the wee hours of the night before a new sleuth day starts.

I try to keep track of when the 24hrs are up, and vote. Generally I have a little saboteur hanging around my neck trying to steal my attention, hence why I tend to play in the wee hours of the night.
Also, it seems like some people are trying to deflect attention from themselves. I am not naming any names *cough Ty, Sindy cough, cough* Sorry had to clear my throat.

Explaining your thought process for the way you voted when you're interrogated about it is not deflecting attention from yourself.

I have a question for The Announcer - and maybe this should be clarified for future games as well - is it fair game to bring into this game things posted by players in previous Resistance games?

Ok so I would give my confidence on you guys, Sindy, AspenK, and Sal as THE RESISTANCE. Let me send an approval for this team.

It's so weird, I think I've played too many games or something...I seem to be assigning people with allegiances based off just their posts. Brrr. I swear I was a facts-only person! :P

*checks if she has voted*

Tyrano, I just noticed your post from yesterday, timestamp: Jul-7-2017 09:31
The mission 1 team + Sal for this mission does NOT mean that any change in mission results will automatically be attributed to Sal. If there is a spy on this team, they will sabotage as they can't afford to be two missions down right in the beginning. If this mission succeeds, I will pick the same team (without me on it, yeah!) when it's my turn as leader, and with our 5 YES votes, you can win the Resistance the whole game. That'd be amazing. But I don't think the chances of you coming up with an all-Res team right now is too high. If leadership rolls around to me on this mission, I'll pick the mission 1 team + me. And I am Resistance (although it isn't of much use me just saying that).

Oh yeah, why a difference in mission results can't just be attributed to Sal's addition: because any spy on this Mission 2 team (could very be Sal too, to avoid making too many assumptions) would have to sabotage, and now they have plenty of people to accuse. Previous members could blame Sal and/or say that it was probably somebody who lay low the first time around, and Sal could use the second argument. So a loss here doesn't prove as much as you might think it will.
