Hi! I will participate today on the boardwalk today but I think it's in New York, right?
I only have 3 cases left today and I need 4 to travel to New York.
What can I do?

Go to your train station or dock. You'll see the boardwalk seaplane. It's free in terms of both money and cases and you can return the same way by visiting the ticket booth at the boardwalk. It's free to return to your original city as well.

Can't find that at the moment in the train station. I am currently unsubscribed, maybe that's why I can't travel that way?

Anybody who has a ticket to one of the Furores (a ticket can be won by doing cases of 'Really Really Hard' difficulty or higher) at the Boardwalk will be able to get there from wherever they are by getting on the Boardwalk's seaplane, whether or not they are subscribed. The Boardwalk's seaplane can be found on the travel page on your right-hand side, above the Sleuthetania box, if you've won a ticket to a Furore.

Just checked again, I got nothing above the Sleuthania image.
Not sure if it's a bug or the fact that I'm unsubbed :(
I got ticket, that's for sure, it even appears on my detective page.

Oh, I see it, you've booked yourself in for the 13:15 (SST) furore; in a little less than 6 hours from now (after the furores that are scheduled to take place before yours are done), you should be able to board the seaplane with no problem. You can only board the seaplane when the furore you've got a ticket to is next. This link lets you check the furore schedule (you can find it in City Hall):

Good luck!

Also I think once you go to New York, you will end up having to stay there since you are unsubbed.

Unless you use the seaplane, shell - that only moves you between your current city and the Boardwalk (the Boardwalk directly, not through NY) whether or not you're subscribed. But all unsubbed detectives not in NY have been offered a one-way ticket to NY, which if used, will mean that you will have to stay in NY, like shell says.

And I think there's a chance the seaplane that takes you to the Boardwalk might only be available from the hour before the furore you have a ticket begins, and not as soon as the furore before yours ends, so that'd be a two-hour difference. Will check and confirm.

Specifically the Seaplane should appear to those outside of NY with a ticket after the last Furore has *finished*. It'll always be there for at least an hour before the Furore starts anyhow.

You can safety travel back after the Furore too, even though you're unsubbed.
