After years of anticipation, the Battery Boardwalk has finally opened its doors to the general public. The residents of Sleuthville come streaming in through the ticket booth--a line stretching as far as the eye can see. Among those gaining entry is a group of elite detectives with complimentary day passes to the attractions, invited specifically to keep an eye on things. A week prior to opening, the higher-ups at the Boardwalk had received anonymous threats of sabotage and murder if the Boardwalk was not torn down immediately. However, the proprietor was not one to submit to intimidation. Thus, on opening day, a group of highly-ranked detectives were tasked with keeping the park safe.

Unfortunately, there have been rumors floating around that some in the ranks of the elite had been approached by the mysterious threat-maker, and were now working for him to guarantee the day would end in disaster. It is said only those who turned to the dark side knew who the others were; everyone else had to eye each other with suspicion and make their own judgements. Although the team has been compromised, there is no time to vet and assemble another one on such short notice. Yet the day is young and there are plenty of opportunities to ensure opening day is a success.

The detectives’ job this fine day is to make the rounds of the park and keep an eye out for any suspicious or potentially dangerous activities. If opening day goes off without a hitch, the Boardwalk is sure to bring in millions, and the detectives would stand to receive a substantial cut for their services. But if it were to fail, then Sleuthville would be plunged into financial ruin and return to the days of never-ending guilty clients and exorbitant Shady fees. Oh no.

Will the Battery Boardwalk’s grand opening be an unparalleled success, or will it go down in flames accompanied by nothing but the screams of disappointed visitors? Stay tuned to find out in this installment of The Resistance.

"I can think of no benefit for a Resistance member to call another Resistance member a spy"

But it is perfectly understand that a Resistance member would call out a spy as a spy.

I know who one spy is and have a fair suspicion about another. I'm not 100% okay about letting this team go ahead. If the mission fails the Resistance would then be two down and the spies would only need one more to win. However, this mission will show if there is a spy on the team. After that it should be plain sailing. My vote is in.

I absolutely agree with you, Zara, about a Resistance member calling out a spy. I have to admit that since two of you have called out the same player, that's must be considered a pretty strong possibility. It is not to say however that the two players (Aspen and yourself) aren't the two spies and are both pointing fingers at miss snopes. I admit that this latter possibility probably has a lower probability of being correct, but it IS still possible. I have not decided which is which yet and hope this round will help clear things up. But since I'm resistance I still don't have enough evidence to say who the spies are, only my surveillance of the situation and my suspicions. Very nicely done everyone.

I can almost see a perfect storm brewing here. If this team goes forward and fails, not only do the spies take the lead but I can see that I will become a spy in the minds of some. If this mission fails a spy will say that Sal voted SUCCEED on the first mission to cover his A. Then when Zara was added to the same team on Mission 2, Sal was free to vote SABOTAGE, and did. Then if Mission 3 fails it will be said :See, Sal's a spy. I'm okay with that, but it will cost the Resistance the game, since that's what I am.. An equally sound explanation is that Bela hid her allegiance in the first round and was free to change in the second. So I though about voting NO for this team even though I'm on it. But I just might go ahead and vote yes anyway, even though a failure will subject me to accusations Oh well. That's what the game's about.

I keep wondering why Sal thinks he might be accused of being a spy. That, in itself, is making me curious about him. But I remind myself there are only 2 spies and 2 people have lied about my allegiance so while I am positive, it makes sense that the other Resistance members might not be.

Zara says "If the mission fails the Resistance would then be two down and the spies would only need one more to win. However, this mission will show if there is a spy on the team. After that it should be plain sailing."

This further reinstates my position. A true Resistance member would not be okay with allowing the spies to sabotage another mission. She is right though in that another win for the spies would make it smooth sailing for them in that they would only need one more win.

Ah, the paranoia is really kicking in... :D

I don't think we should be taking too many chances on the 2-person missions where we have a good chance of hitting upon an all-Res team, and I'm not too sure of this team. So many people saying: "yeah it could fail, that would be bad, but oh well", is freaking me out. We have 4 tries before we *have* to send a team on a mission; couldn't we use *some* of them every now and then? If anybody else is amenable to voting NO to this team because you have whatever suspicions, *please* go ahead; I know Resistance games are very slow and we should try to speed things up, but I feel like we're rushing into things here.

I think the voting deadline is up, Bela.

For me, voting 'no' for this team would have meant that the next team leader is someone I know is a spy.

The results of the vote on Aspen's MISSION 3 Proposal are in.

Aspen proposed a team of
-Aspen
-Sal

This mission proposal has been APPROVED by a vote of 3-2. The votes are as follows:

Zara Bande YES
Sal Iva YES
Bela Talbot III NO
AspenK YES
miss snopes NO

The mission is now ready to proceed. Aspen and Sal must PM me whether they vote to SUCCEED or whether they vote to SABOTAGE the mission.

**Resistance members must vote SUCCEED, while Spies may choose to vote either SUCCEED or SABOTAGE.**

You have 24 hours to get your votes in, or they will be randomized (SUCCEED/SABOTAGE) as applicable to your affiliation.

I'm beginning to believe one resistance member has gone AWOL and joined the spies.

I believe that everyone has voted as their allegiance should indicate. I think that the Resistance has voted yes and the spies have voted no. We shall soon see.

I agree with Sal. He could be deflecting and be Miss Snopes spy buddy. We shall see.
